yeah, knew the crowd would be down 2,5-3,000 when it started raining in the afternoon.

the one day of the week it chooses to rain.

FFS, it seems like just about every game now has rain, thankfully it's blue skies in Melbourne, so am hopeful of a decent turnout tonight (10k plus).

Are you going?

Certainly am, have only missed the Glory game so far because it was a 5pm start on a Sunday and North were playing at the same time.

I was surprised by our turnout at the derby, and add on the good performance from it on the pitch, I really don't think 10k is impossible at all.

Anything below 7-8k will be very disappointing nonetheless.

Erm, no. You don't have that many supporters, an 8k crowd is about the most you should expect outside of a derby match. The faster you lot figure that out and lower your expectations the better.

good thing sydney fc wasnt playing tonight

its been a dreary miserable old day here in sydney

and unlike victorians - new south welshmen tend to not go out and sit in the miserable wet for their events

*sips away at chardonnay*

If the Heart had a leader with the business acumen of Clive Palmer they would shut 3 sides of the ground and let all of their loyal fans sit together. The financial savings would be fantastic, and who knows, bolstered by the new levels of cameraderie, the spectators might even pluck up the courage to make some noise.

9425 in Brisbane. Not a bad crowd for the Victory match, considering that it clashed with Aida over the river at QPAC.
lol!!!!!!

Glory will be lucky to get 5k for their next home game (on a Wednesday night).

It wasn't the weather that affected the attendance at Hindmarsh, it was clearly the local Blue Light Disco up in Golden Grove which attracted the hardcore fans.

Hahaha! And the Warriors played Victoria in Melbourne in the One-Day Cup the day before, so that took about 10k away from the Glory crowd.

It was windy yesterday. People might have lost their hats if they went outside.

thats a very new south welsh like attitude to attending sporting events

it doesnt matter if it was fine for the time of the match, if it was raining before the game started or if the game is televised against the gate, there will be a significant crowd reduction

anyway with this new south welsh attitude its time to turn your back on the afl and support rugby league! death to the freedom fighting victorians!

Don't forget there will also be a significant reduction if the AFL season ended less than six months ago. And if you're playing indoors and it is raining outside.
