Is there anyone going to be left in Perth?
Issue with Perth Glory is they have zero connection to the local leagues and teams. WA has produced its most consistent batch of players since the A-League era and very few of them actually properly came through the Glory set up or made many or any appearances. it's a fertile ground; massive expat English population and a city of 2-plus million, for one.Yeah, the cheap ones and the ones with actual talent
We he of been picked up by now if he was wanted by an aleague club?Amini was a bad get from the get go but surprised this hasn't happened sooner. never the most athletic fellows around, but surely as you age and play less you put more effort into keeping yourself trim. he clearly did not and was more interested in going for swims with his family.
To be fair he was never even that good. he was supposed to be some master number 10 doling out smart passes but he always just looked slow and lethargic and I think that was mistaken for being laconic and natural.
Should be worth noting he missed a junior World Cup (under 21s?) because he failed or was about to fail a blood doping test after Dortmund had some massive week partying. then again he also went to a Cypriot or Turkish club that was well known to be essentially bankrupt, took his family over, and then got a surprise when he... was never paid.
Just a dumb bloke. the shame is he'll end up squeezing a few more contracts out of some A-League sides.
This is spot on. I’m heavily involved in the local leagues and they continually are unable to penetrate and connect with grassroots. The NPL side just takes the “best” young players from the state and it makes a mockery of the competition and it upsets many in the community.Issue with Perth Glory is they have zero connection to the local leagues and teams. Absolute pisstake when Adelaide and a team in Gosford lead the way. not only do they keep the club afloat with canny transfers but they actually win titles.
Saw him at the Casino at like 2am last weekend.
Isn't that what Adelaide does too? But they have really good connections with their community. This is spot on.
