While I would happily take his money, god damn I would hate to have that **** Gerry Harvey associated with the club.

here here. that guy is a tool and the biggest hypocrite ever. i know we need the money bad but i would rather a huge blank space on the jumper than his logo.

Clive Peters are Clive Peters in name only , Gerry Harvey bought/bailed them out last year

Ok - I thought Gerry Harvey had only purchased some of the more profitable stores to transfer across to his Harvey Norman brand and the rest of the company was still being picked over until its ultimate demise.

Good for the staff of Clive Peters though if Harvey did bail them out as they still have a job :thumbsu::thumbsu:

cheers,

Has any of Gerry Harvey's subsidiaries ever sponsors of a sports team?

And if it does turn out I guess I'll be sticking with the old jersey. Not advertising for that prick.*

*but I'd be happy for RFC to take his money.

He puts most of his money in to horse racing as one of the biggest breeders in Australia via his Magic Millions livestock business I believe with John Singleton??

Cheers,

what about that dude spruiking his new weight loss regime, with that you can lose up to 6 keeeylows...;)

HOI IM GEOFF JOWETT

I don't care who it is as long it's not:
Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo...Frank Walker from National Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles

Not sure I have come across that but I will walk if we were to ever have those idiots Chris and Marie of Hellohello (in)fame(y).

Okay i look at my calendar and see its 12th Jan, so obviously we do not have any sponsors lined up which means we have to look at a different approach to sponsorship.

I would guess that the club has been approach ofr a three year deal at an amount that they don't think is sufficient and probably have one year deals which are ok but present a problem with ongoing finnancial stability. I bet gale is really learning what being CEO of a footy club is all about now.

I would suggest that we will see a different approach - something that has not been tyried before in the AFL.

Whatever the case - no sponsor by mid jan is not the best situation to be in.

Whether it's true that we have a tentative agreement with a company or not. . . . .

1. Most big corporates would have only just returned to work on Monday so to have it signed and announced by Wednesday would be a stretch.

2. They would be silly to announce it while we have a national disaster on our hands for promotional reasons.

Yep, a lot of exec's do not come back until next week, and then there is also the issue of in the first few weeks of January media airwaves being cluttered with cricket, tennis and the asian cup.

The airwaves will be relatively clear and football related in the week before the NAB cup. Which is the earliest date i would expect any announcement.

What is more worrying is the membership numbers at the moment. I will post this in the membership forum as well but I genuinely believe they made a mistake with the rewards policy in their operation 10,000 promo by making them seemingly unattainable.

I work within social media and internet marketing and rewards programs generally have to be easy understood and obviously attainable for them to be a success. Rather than a big $10,000 prize to one individual i think a more realisitic promo which gave a reward of maybe a $5-10 tigerden voucher to every existing member who refers a new 2011 member might be something more realistic and enticing to drive new membership.

That is way to late - logistically it is impossible - no company will agree to a sponsorship without cashing in on the publicity of the NAB cup - jumpers would take at least 3 weeks from annoucement to produce. Also wht wait for the publicity to start 5 Feb - remember we will have nationwide coverage for the indig all stars game as well - when it could start next week.
