Johnson and Friends
Oakie Doke.
Rugrats
Arthur

The 90's had the best childrens cartoons, and it ain't nostalgia speaking either. Even taken out of my context, todays are just uncreative and lacking spark.

When were they ever on ABC?

Throughout the early 90's, it was ABC's version of The Simpsons (ie: shown many times @ 6pm).

I remember a lot of shows - leading with Couch Potato and The Afternoon Show.

Bananaman
Super Ted
Count Duckula
DANGER MOUSE!!
Sooty & friends
Vidiot
Finders Keepers (preferred the book)
Henry the Cat
You can't do that on television
Hunter (middle aged guy with a pet mouse).
Some science show hosted by Joe Mangle from Neighbours (PTY LTD - had some theme with "Infinity" lyrics)
Ship to Shore
Alvin & the chimpmunks

** Some random 5 minute clip of a cartoon drawn chicken/rooster moving around, while vision of real environments are playing in the background. I don't remember the name, but i can still recall the tune :D.

I did see Captain Planet and Rocko's Modern Life in their early stages (as well as Where's Wally), but it was also around the time where i stopped watching the channel for cartoons :(

Trapdoor with the plasticine monsters and AEIOU with the sand drawings were two others that havent been mentioned yet.

Read all about it was cool as well. We used to watch it in primary school

I remember the 'Afternoon Show' with James Valentine, I think it was at around 5:00PM. Some of my favourites off the top of my head.

Astro Boy
Monkey Magic
Bananaman & Roger Ramjet
Sooty & Friends
Inspector Gadget
Tin Tin
Wind in the willows
Mysterious cities of gold (I don't think this was on the ABC, but it was epic)

it certainly was on abc. used to come on at 5 or half past 5

The Ferals absolutely dominated, best show

Also watched
Lift Off
Bangers and Mash
Banana Man
and a variety of other stuff.

Me and my mates have just remembered an old abckids show that we've been quoting like mad for the last week.

It was called Stickin Around, and was just these stick figures going on wierd "adventures".

It was pretty shit, EXCEPT!!! For one freak of a character who would just scream shit for no reason. His main lines we're:

"HEY YOU GUUUUYYYYYYYYYSS!!!!!!!!!!!"
and
"HOLLLLLLLLY MACKERAL!!!!!!!!!!"

youtube it, so fricken funny.

Oh man the memories this was kid's shows worth watching.

Captian planet
Angry beavers
Catdog
Rocko's modern life
freaky stories
round the twist
Hey arnold
Billy the cat

The memory of school holidays and from 8-12 you could chill with the remote. The show's these days are ****ing shit.

Adventure Island, Kimba the White Lion, Banana Splits, Kenny Everit Video Show(watching it now makes you cringe, as does) The Goodies. Bill and Ben(Bop op little weeed), Sesame Street(yes it was on back then) and Play School. Tho we couldn't wait for six o'clock on a Saturday night for Countdown.

Press Gang was another that was must watch. Only used to be on Fridays. I remember when they were held hostage by a gunman in a two part episode and I put notes all around the house to remember to watch it the next week.

Joshua Jones. Loved the theme song.

Pingu kicked arse

Rugrats was my favourite of the full length cartoons though. Great cartoon.
