I don’t really understand the nappies thing, wasn’t she out of nappies anyway? She’s 4? And how someone could notice he was buying nappies anyway, wouldn’t they be in a grocery bag or something. This case is strange, very strange :/
Thank God for phone tower triangulation though 😂
He probably had no plans to let her out of the locked room. Nappies is one solution he mat have had.

Appreciate it mate.

It was reported at the time he was attacked by a fellow inmate in custody.

Very poor of the WA police to compromise the investigation if true.
Reported where? Fakebook. He wouldve not been near any other inmates. They want this piece of crap to go trial.

I really want to type the blokes name in our Child Protection database but I'd lose my job. Based on some basic data I can probably track a bit of his trajectory because it would be very similar to other young people we've worked with:

- Boy is removed from his parents into the care of the Department, like exposed to a range of harm categories.
- Only available foster carer is his Grandmother, no other viable male role models in his community.
- Is possibly moved around placements or experiences lack of housing stability.
- He references in his post living in Perth for some time, probably not a lie as many kids in care are sent to Perth for boarding school where they often feel more alienated and isolated off country.
- Grandmother dies and he loses his only family support figure.
- He leaves the care of the department and likely receives a payout due to Criminal Injuries Compensation, life insurance and/or Native Title claim.
- He spends this on the new car and fills his house wall to wall with dolls and toys.

Incredibly many traumatised children don't always seek drugs, drink and abusive behaviour - they seek out pure, innocent symbols that were prevalent before any harm or significant life changes were effected.

I dont even know if this guy was in care I'm just mapping a likely trajectory for many of our young people in care. Once these kids turn 18 we say 'see ya later' even if they've got no supports. It's disgusting and immoral.

I was only wondering this morning how he could afford to buy so many of those dolls, they are not cheap, plus seems to have a late model car. So maybe a payout of compensation/native title is funding the doll purchasing....there is no way you'd be able to keep up buying what he does just on a Government payment

No, reported on the news. There were also reports the injuries were self-inflicted which have been confirmed now.

Why are they removed from their parents?

EDIT: No need to answer and it's off topic anyway.

Did anyone happen to see what kind of item of clothing Cleo was dressed in when she was rescued? Does anyone recognize the character them on the little nightie Cleo was wearing in hospital?

Sky news just broadcast interview with Blanch. Subhuman has been taken for medical attention a couple of times. Injury caused by self harm and said he did not have details of that self harm. They are not pushing to interview until he is declared mentally fit and his fed and comfortable before interview process commences. Blanch said that if they push now it may damage prospect of legal due process.

Sounds to me as if Police/DPP will require a judge to order custody extension due to medical psych conditions.

Blanch also talked of Cleo being held in terrible conditions. So sad!

Why such a narrow definition of "harm"?

Clearly the abduction and imprisonment is harm.

But in the real of what could have been done, and usually is in these kinds of cases, she doesn't appear to have been seriously physically harmed while he had her.

Another thing I noticed he seems very well educated, some of his comments are well written, knows a lot about the law and his spelling is near perfection.

One of Marc Dutroux victims, when she was rescued from a concealed room after being missing for three months also looked physically unharmed.

The man who took Cleo is a very, very dangerous predator imo and he's a collector.

Yeah and what happened to some of Dutroux's other victims? Very poor example imo.

Certainly he is dangerous. But unless you really want me to spell out what happens in the majority of these cases, you're going to need to simply accept the fact that the harm inflicted could have been far greater.

Bit early to say he didnt harm her. They havnt even tested things at the lab yet. They havnt interviewed the girl or the offender yet either.
Gotta jump thru a heap of hoops before they can question him, as hes an aboriginal and u now have to have all sorts of legal council involved.

Not sure you can come to that just yet. Funny how the same people who were telling people not to jump to conclusions about the parents are the same ones jumping to conclusions about the arrested man.

Blanch also talked of Cleo being held in terrible conditions. So sad!

I have a very broad definition of the phrase "highly dangerous".
Probably much broader than the standard Police one.

The example was only that we can't tell what has happened to Cleo simply by looking at a few seconds of footage.

And then there's the potential for longer term damage which may or may not eventuate or manifest in a variety of ways.
Hopefully not.
