Laughable that someone can get rubbed out for a hard tackle (a football action) and someone is cleared for an elbow that doesn’t come close to being an action of the game. I’d be on his side if it was a bump or similar.. but an elbow to the head is a dog act, no matter how much Shiel continued to play.

So in 320 games how many times has he done it? Cleanest player in the game. Every other elite midfielder who copt heavy tags like he did season after season were reported for multiple striking offences over their careers. Fyfe, judd, hodge. All of them had committed multiple heinous acts over their careers. Yet ablett, the best of them all, remained clean.

Based on what. Fyfe has been done for multiple striking offences that sent players off the field. When has ablett done that? Hoping he has and reality arent the same thing. Judd has eye gouged and whacked blokes behind the play. Hodge broke a players jaw with a round arm strike when that player wasnt looking. He elbowed a player in the head into a goal post. He is the most despicable of the lot.

Given the vigorous defence that Cats fans have given Ablett for elbowing Shiel in the head I look forward to them displaying the same level of support of the next opposition player to clock Selwood or Dangerfield with a stray elbow to the head.

If they condemn that player then it proves how hypocritical they really are.

It happens every game. Often multiple times in a qtr. we dont even bother talking about it.
