Mexican wave when we are 10 goals down (which we will be)
This is peak BigFooty nuff stuff but I’m actually so into it. Imagine your own fans doing the wave in a 10 goal belting, would provide endless ammo to every other set of fans forever but **** it would be funny.

Pretty hard to spin that into ‘our loyal fans will keep showing up and signing the song on the charter plane’ too because who is more loyal than the paid up members who keep showing up to home games this year.

You’re a lawyer right, do you know much about protest staging in WA?

I’ll get back to you, I’m busy looking up how to get people declared legally incompetent.

These BF melts are really getting me through this horrorshow. I think some were just waiting to rage at whatever was released by the club today. What was it suppose to say? We've burnt down Simmos house and there will be a public stoning of nizzy at 1pm tomorrow at optus?
Should actually say nothing

If you got nothing constructive to say, dont talk

In any sense, if you got something to say, dont have the last sentence of it being a guilting of the fans and asking for more money at the end of it... Its that attitude which is why we are where we are really

They may already have our membership money but if they get less than say 30,000 at Optus I’m pretty sure it hits them in the hip pocket as they lose money under the stadium deal based on reduced bar and food revenue. So a boycott is probably the biggest message that could be sent.

I’m inclined not to go, not to make a statement but mainly because I’m not that much of a masochist to sit through another performance like yesterday. But I’ll probably drag myself along again because my young bloke is right into his footy at the moment.

“We are committed to appointing an external expert to conduct a full independent review of the football department’s operations over the last two seasons”.

Done. Took me less than six minutes, so I’ll waive my usual charge.

I’m as patient as anyone but some semblance of pathway, some semblance of responsibility not just the vague ‘ah well we all have our part to play so we all share it’.

Hard to see how Simmo survives but I’m not here baying for blood and saying I want a head to roll, but some degree of impetus would have been nice.

“We expect a strong response against St Kilda” well I’d hope that’s a given and we won’t re-set the worst ever loss record. What is that improvement measured against? Can you hint at any sort of club wide review, or commit to any sort of KPIs for the rest of the year? We know the plan is hit the draft and back the kids, can they give us any more info than that? “Some of the senior players were well down yesterday” ok so what’s the plan there?

People expecting blood and thunder from this of all clubs are wasting their own times, people like me who pray for clear communication are also stupid pricks, but a bit more than a very vague and very generalised ‘yeah wasn’t good was it, and that’s on all of us, but please be patient’ would have helped.

Please be patient and keep giving us your money was 100% of the pooint of that email

Anything else you are reading into it simply isnt there im afraid.

The thing is I'm not keen on anything that seems like we're having a go at the players, it's mostly not their fault (especially the younger guys) that they've been put in this position. They didn't put this shitty, shitty list together, they didn't ask to be playing AFL football when they're not ready and in positions they shouldn't be playing at this age with very little support.
Whatever happens it needs to be targeted specifically at Nisbett and co. in my opinion.

For those unlucky enough not to get it !

June 25, 2023

Dear wallet,

Yesterday’s defeat at the Sydney Cricket Ground was one of the darkest days in the history of the football club.

Losing in the way that we did to Sydney was unacceptable. The 171-point margin aside, what we produced on the field was not representative of what the West Coast Eagles has stood – and still stands – for.

We know our members and fans are hurting and so is everyone inside the football club.

We all take a degree of responsibility for where we sit currently and equally we are all committed to fighting our way through this situation.

It is important to get games into young players and fast track their development. We had nine players under the age of 21 take the field against the Swans and we expect them to be very good AFL players.

But we need our senior players to set a better example for them. With a couple of exceptions many of the experienced players were well down yesterday.

Obviously Adam Simpson and his coaching staff have been limited with what they can do with such a long injury list, but regardless we cannot tolerate performances of that nature and we expect a strong response against St Kilda next Sunday.

We do have faith that Adam can take this team forward and we also believe in the path we need to take to fight our way back.

It will take time because the long-term strategy revolves around bringing in more high-end young talent through the draft to lay solid foundations for the next era.

In closing, we do hear you and we urge you to stick with us through this. We need you more than ever. It will turn because everyone at the club is prepared to roll up their sleeves and get it done.

We can do it together.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Fitzpatick
Chair

I'll take "Cliches I've had my assistant google" for $400. Alex.

I’ve been trying to take a break from footy for a while but the email from Fitzpatrick that just landed in my inbox has broken me. How can they possibly turn in the worst performance by any club in decades, in amongst a season of new worsts, and then turn around and give us the same meaningless platitudes about trusting the process? This is long beyond a joke.

They’ve got our membership money which, let’s face it, is all that they care about, so not turning up on Sunday won’t mean anything. For those of us that do turn up, what can we do? I’m thinking something like all turning our back at the 18 minute mark, something symbolic (but ultimately just as futile, I know).

Anyone got any thoughts?

I remember back during the ken judge years they couldnt give away memberships.
My boss got 2 at choice seating for peanuts.

If everyone scraps their memberships like a friend of mine is doing, he pays 6k per year, then it forces them to make harder decisions.
Even in the wings members should cancel theirs.

Be nice if they flashed him or Fitz up on the big screen during the game.

Oakland A's had a reverse boycott a few weeks ago which I think had some decent concepts.

All their fans showed up during a terrible timeslot against a terrible team to show they still cared, but crowdfunded 30k to make a SELL shirt for everyone in attendance, and then went deathly quiet to start the 5th before a deafening Sell The Team chant after the first batter.

Would be good to have a huge 'Nisbett out' chant at the 24 minute mark or however many years it is.

I assume the mods could afford 60k QUIT shirts on their salaries easy too.
