Traded Adam Cerra traded to Carlton for pick #6 and F3

If he leaves (as widely reported), what will Freo get in return?

  • Two good 1st round picks

  • Top 10 pick and change

  • A 1st & a 2nd

  • Later 1st rounder

  • Two 2nd rounders

  • Early 2nd rounder

  • Other 2nd round pick

  • Less than a 2nd rounder

FWIW, a couple of senior Freo heads were reported to be watching the Richnond VFL game. Could be any number of reasons, could one of them be they think Cerra might nominate the Tiges and wanted to check out someone like CCJ as part of the deal?
The most obvious answer is that they were there to watch Stack, but I thought Freo would've learned their lesson by now regarding bringing WA born troubled talent back home.

Something doesn't add up to me.

Dude does not miss a target heading inside 50 in freos forward line.... Imagine how bad Cez would hurt opposing teams kicking to a functional forward line on a good team.

I just don't see us bending over and accepting late teens picks for him and without giving up one of your guns, that's all you'll have.
Watched the bombers game just before and had 28 touches in all honesty nothing Cerra did made me think wow he is a star or must have player and at $750k+ i hope we stay away. looks extremely vanilla

Normally I agree with most of your posts Gun, but in this instance you are dead wrong.

Lol good thing you are not in charge of Richmond's recruiting.

Baker is not, and never will be one third of the player Cerra is.
You need to watch more Richmond games , Baker is a little gem
23 years old and 1st game in the midfield against GWS star midfield and he dominated with 33 touches 6 tackles
BOG imo

I would not give up Baker for a late 1st rounder

Players have control. Unfortunately for Freo, he will nominate a club and Freo will be forced to play ball.
True. This is why I am gutted cerra is out of contract, because a club like yours or hawks will say 2nd rounder or pick 21-25 or PSD.

Under contract he is easily worth pick 10-15

Yeah true. As much as I want Shai Bolton who is a talented player. He is too much of a Risk, not that Bolton want to leave Richmond

He is worth a pick 10- 15 to any team but not top 5

Whats the risk with Bolton you speak about ?
For what happened last week i wouldnt blame him and would expect my mates to do the exact same thing. What would we think if he had not stood up for his best friend

My issue with Bolton isn't the off field stuff or his talent.

It's more of a des Headland type situation. Des Headland was awesome at Brisbane as he was in a midfield working with Voss, Lappin, Akermanis, black etc.

Goes to Freo at the end of 2002 and is playing alongside Peter Bell, Paul Hasleby and Troy cook.

He is thriving at Richmond with the players around him like Martin and Cotchin and other players in their prime 25-30 year old range.

Freos midfield is basically Fyfe, Mundy who are both 30 or over and guys like Brayshaw and Cerra (if he stays) who are only 22 years old.

Bolton won't be as damaging at Freo.

Disagree. Bolton has been in career best form when he has had to be a permanent midfielder. Martin has been poor by his standards, no Cotchin (who was down on form when playing), Prestia out for most of this year so far.

Bolton has carried our midfield and I don't think that would change if he went to Freo.

Bolton has probably been our best mid this year and wouldnt be surprised if he is leading our best n fairest until last week
He has had his best games when Martin/Cotch/Prestia/lambert have been missing.

Michael Walters played well during his midfield time with a weak midfield and Bolton will also

A lot people see him as maybe a Cotchin replacement, but not sure he has Cotch's ruthlessness.
This post is more about pumping up Cotchin than it is about discussing Cerra and his future.

Reckon Cerra has a great level of competitiveness personally.

Cerra can be solid both as an inside mid or an outside mid.

Cerra would thrive Under clarko....

I am serious. Clarko could make him an inside mid or outside mid and turn him into an A-grader.

Hawks first pick for Cerra (with a 3rd round from Freo going back to Hawthorn) would be about on the money I would have thought.

I would give up SPS and our 2nd rounder for Cerra myself, but I doubt Freo would go for that (never know with Bell though, who has made some odd trades in the last 18 months)

I wouldn't even do Baker for Cerra.
That'll work out just fine as I am not sure anyone else wants to either.

No doubt some of the coin is potential and some (from us at least) is please stay money.

I'll take the Hawks offer and spit in your face at the Carlton one. SPS worth about pick 40 right now and even that is speculative.
