Indeed. As I understand it, when it was announced at the B and F last week, the Palladium erupted in total applause.

If Essendon were to pick its current best 22, I think most would have him either in it or just outside for the start of 2008, trades and drafting notwithstanding.

I'd like to think he could be a team leader in some description too.

But seriously what an effort from the bloke to beat cancer twice. I remember going to an Essendon Intra-club game in Feb 2006, thinking he's not far away from death. Awesome effort, and that first goal he kicked V Geelong sent tingles down my spine, and I don't even go for Essendon.
