Fortunately the fan boys are posting less, or not at all. Which allows for reasonable discussions
Can't say I miss how they focus on one little detail that isn't factually correct, and use that one nitpicky thing to ignore the key points of the post (or is that to distract everyone else from the key points?)

I thought Knights carried and presented himself very well at the presser.

Confident, assured very much in control of the presser and surroundings, genuine in his narrative, he didn't avoid or shirk any of the ticklish questions.

I could not help but be very impressed with his presentation. :thumbsu:

He gives just the right amount of 'crazy eyes', like a Lyon Lite™, and I love his concentration face when listening to a question.

Love it that the club issue a scathing statement over a couple of fringe players letting the club down when they say nothing over the performances of senior players on mega dollars.

It will very on brand to drop Nelson and Rotham to the two's to make a statement

Meanwhile unfit senior players serve up garbage on-field week after week, season after season without repercussion.

Nisbett is currently overseeing the following.

The worst AFL side in the comp
The worst AFLW side in the comp, no improvement in three seasons
The worst merchandise and apparel in the comp. Surely the club finances and overall visibility in the general public have been hit by this terrible decision. No one I know is interested in buying any West Coast gear.
The worst club song in the comp, with a change without consulting his members, showing that he learned absolutely nothing from 20 years earlier with the Ochre. Funny how we were also a basket case in those years.

He surely has to go. Simpson can have a go at the rebuild if he thinks he can do it over a prolonged period (3-5 years).

Dont forgot

Worst Social Media team
Worst Strength and Conditioning coaches
Worst Fitness coaches

Best fats guys

On SM-G925I using BigFooty.com mobile app

I am no fan boy of Nisbett, couldnt give a shit if he is turfed or not.

What I do have hard time understanding, is how does this mean its his fault? I dont know what the structure is like, but from my personal experience in working life. The exec is supposed to lead the vision, remove any blockers and steer the "Company" from risk and good governance. Its the guys under that level that seem to be the issue of not performing.

Although if there is still the same guys who are leading the day to day and no improvements are being seen, then its up to the leadership to remove them.

Who is the overall director for football? Isnt that Vozzo, and should he be the one putting a rocket up the S&C/Fitness Teams, and Recruitment and List Management should be challenged because we do have issues both in the mens and women lists.

Social Media / Apparel, I dont really give a shit about. I still buy a polo or guernsey just because it has the eagles on it, nothing more or less.

But agreed there are some in this club who either to need to change or **** off.

Coaching to lose is as good as tanking. We’ve given up attempting to win or even score implementing the slowest style of play possible and taking 0 attacking risk. This is Simpson coaching for his career. Yeah he may not lose by 100 points again but he’s setting the club back further, hampering development and setting standards and culture. I was hoping knights may let some attacking flair but no. It’s No wonder the players have given up

This literally isn’t Simpson coaching 😂

Watched tonights post match presser and it's the second time in three days that Knights has impressed me.

I thought that his ability to articulated the nuances of the game and his explanation of how the fundamentals of the game itself played out, were outstanding.
His analysis of just where the game was won and lost, was spot on it was concise and indicated that he had a real grasp and understanding of the deficiencies in our game and the areas in which we need to improve and fine tune.

Good presser and at times his steely eyed confident glances and looks were, reminiscent of a confident John Worsfold at his peak.

I learnt something about Knights this week, that I hadn't previously known, he is a very good communicator.

I`m really surprised to see how all of a sudden , we have no skills or experience to actually create clean over lap and run to make good attacking plays ..WTF is going on it`s like everyone has forgotten how to play football ..

How this is Simpson. Last week record scores against us for turnovers. Plan this week. Move the ball so slow that it can never be turned over. Get a ball up or out of bounds every time. We won’t score but not will they. If they invested the 15 hours they spent on that plan into kick in tactics, Centre square rotations, and the zone that had been rubbish for a long time we may get somewhere.

The real problem is you have someone coaching for their career, and not for the players or club

This is not the problem. It's often a problem with many clubs/coaches, but it's not really the problem here.

I posted recently about the media cycle - every pundit talks about a week either side of the current day - what happened last game, what will happen next. There's a good reason for this and it has it's place. There's a downside though - it conditions the average punter to view football like this (not so much the weekly cycle, but the way how that weekly cycle determines how pundits talk about football). The problem is that "talk" doesn't work when we're talking long term. It's just not reality.

I'd say 90% of people think about football like this. Imagine all the posters on here got what they wanted - we were playing ok football. That would be a problem. Simmo would be under the impression we are still in the window, then he goes and drafts English or some other player, unaware that it won't be enough to win a flag.

So the actual problem is the reverse of what 90% of people think.

2019 - 2021 was a problem because even though we were thereabouts, we were never a real chance. We had a team capable but the coach's gameplan was a bust. 90% of people lost their shit at the mention that Simmo should have been sacked.

2022 - everyone is melting as if it's a huge problem. Injury and Covid is the best thing that could have happened to us. it's painful football to watch but it will deliver top end draft picks - and hopefully we choose well.

We had a problem between 2019 and 2021. Now we don't have a problem. The only problem we have is, as you say, Simmo coaches for his career and starts spending draft picks instead of rebuilding from the draft.

If 2019-2021 was 0 flags simply due to Simpson he should have been sacked last year
