It's not common for any executive to be on the board as it screws up governance. If the board is wanting to sack the CEO they can't even have a formal meeting about it without the CEO being involved.I think Trev makes his own rules tbh
For a start I don’t think it’s common for a club CEO to also be on the board
There’s a stronger case for Nisbett to retire than for Simpson to leave. At a minimum there should be a succession plan in place for him
My own view is that we should be putting someone in between Nisbett and current Football GM (Gavin Bell) with the plan he would take over as CEO after 12 months or so
Initially he could do a review of sorts across the club which would familiarise him with the way the club operates and also allow a fresh set of eyes to identify areas of improvement
I suspect Nissy planned to hand over the CEO job and then hang around on the board for 5 or so years to oversee things and ease into retirement. Unfortunately the club has gone to shit and he thinks he needs to hang around to fix it (when he's likely one of the root causes of the problem).
