I have no real strong feelings towards Simpson about sacking, but sheesh I think it's going to be tough for him to keep his job this week.
You think he'll get walked this week? Would be very unlike WCE wouldn't it?
2.5 year payout should do the trick to keep him where he is
It's OK, there ARE GOOD Simmo supporters in their armchairs, a tad overweight with chips on their comfy paunch and beer in hand.I'm a Simmo supporter but you've just summed me up and I feel attacked
Dunno, but this is some really shitty stuff. I would not be at the least surprised. Absolute rock bottom.
Sure, but this is assuming that he wasn't given a clause in his contract regarding a maximum payout.
More likely we get another STFU email instead.
Possibly, just seems a weird way to extend his contract. Simmo, we want the stability of retaining you long term into a rebuild, but if it goes off the rails you're out early and you won't be paid in full.
Basically, you're signed til 2025 but it means nothing if we deem it so.
I'm pretty neutral on the Simpson discussion, however, if any one performance is going to see him ousted it's the one West Coast just put up.
Losing by 116 points to the second worst team in the competition is pretty damning.
I think we are a step closer to just biting the bullet $$ wise. This is indefensible. The turnout the next two weeks will be interesting. Big VIC clubs with strong WA support will save the embarrassment of a sub 30k crowd.
Problem is cap tax grows exponentially in consecutive years so breaking it one year is fine but doing it every year isn't sustainable. If we're blowing the cap I'd prefer we spent it on extra S&C, development, tactical oppo analysis, scouting, just anything with an eye on the future and getting more player availability.
I'll judge Simmo when he's got a team to pick from.

Is that the strongest argument a rusted on Simpson fanatic like yourself can come with to support him - i.e. it will cost us money if we sack him? That says it all IMO.2.5 year payout should do the trick to keep him where he is

If a coach in his position got paid out half of what is left on his contract, and he was allowed to get any other job he likes in the industry and the salary won't be deducted from his pay out, i wouldn't call that "nothing".Possibly, just seems a weird way to extend his contract. I don't want to hear etc. He's coaching with both hands tied behind his back and a ball gag in his mouth
AFL don't own the licence so why would they bother doing a review? There needs to be an AFL run review of the club. If that means the entire board, CEO replaced then that happens first, then the rest of the staff including head coach are under review. These performances are beyond pathetic. They are not currently producing an AFL level product. This has to happen ASAP though as this can't go on all year.
