West Coast Eagles head of communications revealed as the source behind Adam Simpson holiday rumour​

West Coast’s head of communications and the long-time right-hand man to chief executive Trevor Nisbett told media coach Adam Simpson would be encouraged to take a long break at the end of the season.
The West Australian can reveal Gary Stocks, who has been in the position since it was created in 2000, sent a text message statement to the Herald Sun on Wednesday saying: “When our season ends he will be encouraged to take an extended break to refresh.”

Stocks’ text to the Melbourne newspaper further read: “Adam will coach out the remainder of the season. He is up for the challenge and keen to improve and develop our players and game plan.”

But within hours the Eagles took to Twitter and Facebook to rubbish the reports, claiming they were “inaccurate” and that “no such discussion has taken place.”

Agree with point #1, don't believe point #2 is feasible (as the AFL has decided its a reality TV show rather than a professional competition so we cant afford it) and #3 completely and utterly have no faith in Simmo to be anywhere near this rebuild. As for Eddie he was saying the same nonsence about retaining faith in Buckley right up untill Collingwood bit the bullet and got rid of both of them. Which is demonstratively a good move.

I could be wrong but I think the point the poster is trying to make is that people who think it is horribly wrong that other people on this fan forum want Simmo gone is foolish as potentially half the board want him gone.

I don't believe the point was that people who want Simmo to stay are foolish.

The board disagrees on whether he should stay or go. This board disagrees on whether he should stay or go. How does that end up with one side being vindicated and the other made to look foolish?
