Traded Adam Treloar [traded w/ #28 to Collingwood for #7, #65, 2016 first rounder]

Some clubs seem to get trades done with a minimum of fuss because they are realistic in valuing the outgoing and incoming player. Other clubs don't get much done in trade week/fortnight/month because like many on BF, they over value their player and want to under value the other clubs player.

I'm thinking here in particular about Essendon who are notoriously difficult to get a deal done except at the 11th hour.

GWS and Melbourne are both fair traders so if Melbourne appealed to Treloar, the Dees will get a deal done early in the trade period.

Motlop can't compare to rioli and one is a genuine forward and the other is a half forward\midfielder but motlops stats don't lie and there's a reason why he was in the AA squad last season

But Gibson didn't make that same squad. so clearly it's not actually about how well you play.

Can add the saints to the easy to deal with list

It makes no sense at all to deal with Collingwood.

Out of all the teams they look to have a list that will challenge us in the coming years so why give them a prized jewel who could ultimately impact our chances??

And what's more f*** Eddie McGuire, that triple chinned a******* has caused us more headaches than anyone with his constant bleating about the Academies and draft picks.

I'm sick of that pratt getting his way.

I would be disgusted if we dealt Treloar to them.

I really doubt your Recuriters would harbour so much Hate and would note deal with Collingwood over that.

Would look Utterly and Totally unprofessional

I wonder if we could do something with you guys? Treloar + a player for your 1st pick and Howe?

Roos wants an A grade midfielder, we've traded before very amicably with Tyson and Frost.

From a personal point of view I'd rather we did this than with some other clubs.
Sounds good, got a forward prospect who can ruck a bit?

Luckily what any of us want at the end of the day means nothing.

Motlop is an AA quality half forward/midfielder who is entering the prime of his career, I don't see how it is that far off, Motlop would compliment GWS amazingly. You are not going to get anything even remotely close off Collingwood to an AA standard half flanker. Wits is a dud and a fringe 22, why on earth would you want a Collingwood reserves player?

Maybe even Motlop + a second round pick. You won't find a better deal around then that.
Firstly nobody is giving you a midfield gun like Treloar for a flaky half forward

Secondly your club say they are confident of resigning him

Thirdly you are after Danger not Treloar

Fourthly a key position or a ruck will always carry more cache than a flanker

Five downplaying Witts when most rucks don't mature until after 25 doesn't do you any favours

And six GWS are screaming out for a quality young Ruck to build around (Lobbe and Downie pfft)

You can't be flaky and get AA squad recognitions and kick 40+ goals in a season, so stupid point. until he signs i will put his name up.

And no, nobody is going to give good players up for the sake of a ruckman, you only hold more currency as a GOOD ruckman, one who is either good or has shown very good signs as a youngster, witts has done neither, he is a liability in every aspect besides the ruck, he has nothing going for him besides his height, has zero good attributes to his game. I may as well throw padraig Lucy from our reserve ruck stocks and our first rounder for him as well since he is a young ruck and isn't 25 yet.

Remember, just because your young and a ruckman, and you have played senior games, it doesn't automatically give you currency, almost all of his games have been terrible outside of the hit outs. Why would anyone want to build a premiership list around a player like that?

Getting Dangerfield is irrelevant to our first round pick and trading Motlop. We can be into as many players as we want off season

And finally, ask yourself this

What would any club take, an A grade match winning explosive HF flanker stepping into his prime, or a 22 year old ruckman who is nothing but speculative in his career that hasn't shown a thing to suggest he will become good?

It's an absolute no brainer. You don't have anything to offer GWS at all

Delusional... besides Treloar to Collingwood is a done deal so you can offer the world but he loves Bucks who coached him u16's and is best mates with Pendles, Swanny and Adams... go look at his Twitter account

You aint in the race ;)

Please show me this done deal in an article? Last time I checked, being Twitter friends and a coach from 7 years ago when you were 15 aren't indications of a "done deal" so this is quite dillusional and funny.

If we want to be in the race at the end of the year, we simply have a lot more potentially to offer than you do to satisfy GWS with Motlop if he wants out as he needs to be traded. But we might use him to get S Selwood from west coast.

Either way witts is a dud that isn't going to get you more than an average mid

All the journos have asked and every club has told them the same thing.. he's going to Collingwood, bookmark it ;)

Uh, this old chest nut

Still have room for James Aish? That was a done deal when it came out few months ago he'd put off contract talks..

Every bloody year Collingwood is linked to the big guns but very rarely does it eventuate.

Jesse White is hardly a big name, Travis Varcoe.. Pfft. Jack Crisp was a role player at Brisbane.

I'll maybe give you Taylor Adams who was an up and coming youngster but hardly a dominator up north.

Wish Collingwood supporter would remove there heads firmly entrenched from there arses. It's not a "done deal, done and dusted".

Having friends with his family, I can tell you that nothing has changed and he is firmly looking at his options without having anything set in stone.

5 Victorian clubs and 3 interstate clubs have all offered him something with his management looking at and reviewing them all which is why it's taking so long.

But hey, dont let a little lie (he's signed and sealed too Collingwood hey?) get in the way of a good story.

Yes I'm sure you are right and all the journos and clubs are wrong.. good luck with that

Unless his management or treloar has said it will be GWS or Collingwood he is going to at end of year, then it is all speculation and a good newspaper story and nothing more. The only credible sources are his management and treloar himself. Anything else is just " I heard he/she said", and we all know how credible that can be.

I'm just giving you the reality of it, I don't see how anything at all suggests Collingwood, you have less to offer than other clubs, and there aren't any special connections to Collingwood. It's a wide open race.

If it is it is.
But theres nothing saying it other than journos and they have been wrong about our players often. Very often. In fact they must just make crap up to write.

Yeah, nah.

But there is a chance. Can't say anything you have said to be remotely accurate or logical, but Collingwood is a chance.

Probably a deal of one f frost/brown or Elliot, potentially even a straight swap of Grundy since they are after a quality ruck and you have witts in the wings. Another trade I could see is freeman or scharenberg + first rounder for treloar.

I can't see much else getting the deal done.

If Geelong is interested, Motlop + a pick will get it done easily.

Collingwood don't pay that much for players! They're offering up Sinclair + 2nd rounder for Adam Treloar

Just a question if Witts is so good why is he the first player that every Collingwood fan throws out for a fair trade??

Tell you what we Giants fans appreciate that but we think Grundy is a better fit. Since you are so inclined to give us a player of equal value that we really need give us Grundy for Treloar and we'll call it even.

You can keep Witts and we'll hold on to Jed Lamb even though we really think you need him.
