Traded Adam Treloar [traded w/ #28 to Collingwood for #7, #65, 2016 first rounder]

I don't really see much of a problem with it, GWS did offer GFC 2 first round picks in last season trade period which geelong knocked back, so they are obviously keen on him.
1 player for 1 instead of using 2 draft picks.
Can't see it happening but I've read worse trades and seen worse happen
GWS had more picks than they knew what to do with last year and were very keen to land some mature players to make the 8 (or go close). Turns out they will do that without the trades they floated last minute last year.

If those lose Treloar I think they will want to add at least 1 mature replacement as well as the 2 highly rated academy kids but they don't have a need to pay overs at the trade table any more.

If they aren't already then players will be lining up to join them shortly and slot straight in to a regular finals team.

Yep ,
Chapman , Giles , Cooney and Gwilt are living proof that efc are capable of landing the big ones ...
Nice batch of list cloggers if you're not contending, and Essendon aren't!

In all seriousness Essendon need to have a good think about where their list is at and that's not helped by the WADA wank hanging around.

I wonder if we could do something with you guys? Treloar + a player for your 1st pick and Howe?

Roos wants an A grade midfielder, we've traded before very amicably with Tyson and Frost.

From a personal point of view I'd rather we did this than with some other clubs.

Jesus.. we are hoping Witts and a 1st rounder gets it done but I fully expect them to want either steak knives or a swap of later rounds as well

You aint getting the youngest (by a large margin) top 12 possession accumulator in the league for Notlop
Motlop is an AA quality half forward/midfielder who is entering the prime of his career, I don't see how it is that far off, Motlop would compliment GWS amazingly. You are not going to get anything even remotely close off Collingwood to an AA standard half flanker. Wits is a dud and a fringe 22, why on earth would you want a Collingwood reserves player?

Maybe even Motlop + a second round pick. You won't find a better deal around then that.

motlop would struggle for a game there. witts actually fills a need for gws. they need picks and or a decent ruck/defender not a half forward or mid ffs they have ahern/pickett in the two's

They need a quality ruck, witts is a dud who can't even get a regular spot. Motlop kicked 40 odd goals a year or so ago from the forward flank and has proven he is one of the best small forwards in the AFL, was an AA squad named player, would be a regular in any AFL side. Who from Richmond or Collingwood in AA contention rankings or top ten players from your club would be on offer?

If Geelong put Motlop on the table plus a pick or so, we are offering what Richmond and Collingwood can't beat.

Treloar and Townsend for first pick and Howe?

Where would Howe fit in to our 22? I'd rather have Palmer/WHE in the forward line

I think Howe is an interesting player. I would use him primarily down back as a marking CHB but use him as a swing man to rotate in the forward line and give it added marking ability and flexibility.

Sometimes our forward line looks too tall and clunky and with Patton back it will be even taller. Just think there might be a space there to plug needs and at 25 he would be a nice mid aged player not to mention his marketing appeal with his exciting play.

With his age profile he would be looking to join a premiership window team and he's Tasmanian so NSW shouldn't be an issue. Plus were we not into him last year at trade week with a cheeky offer?

WHE to me is more a winger although his comparison is good.

There are not many established players I would want right now as most would end up NEAFL list cloggers but Howe could be interesting.

Gut feel is that Treloar ends up at Collingwood but I wouldn't rule out Carlton in this equation.

Will start with a higher pick than any other Victorian team and will likely acquire another first round pick for Henderson. I think Carlton would be reluctant to trade away first round picks in a time of rebuild, but Treloar still has the majority of his career in front of him. Silvagni may have already known which players on the GWS list were vulnerable/more likely to head home.

It's going to be fascinating to see how this all plays out but for now everyone needs a cold shower and to wait until the finals are over.

Are you serious. Motlop would walk into every team in the competition.

Genuine match winner. Not many of those in the AFL.

Far out!! Shiels is probably top 3 in our B&F. Top 5 most underrated in the comp. Shoe and Spang are KPP...there is no better exponent of forward pressure in the league than Pop.
The only player on that list that is worthy is Lithers.

Doc replace Lithers. Hill replaces Hartung.

Motlop is in the Top 5 over rated players in the comp. if he's lucky he's play Sub

Isn’t Carlton really into Aish?

Where do we sign?

(I wish it was this easy!)

Seriously though, GWS and Melbourne have traded very well together, even back to the mini draft. I wouldn't be surprised fi we did again this year.
