I'd have Treloar ahead of The Bont and Sloane.

I make no apologies that I gave my opinion and that you cracked it. Grundy is right now, clearly, the second best ruck in the AFL. He'd be worth the kitchen sink at the trade table. If you can't handle these opinions about Colligwood then don't participate in threads about Collingwood.

It's comments like these that make Collingwood fans sometimes appear pretty deluded. Treloar's a really nice player but suggesting he's worth more than Bontempelli is ridiculous. I mean Treloar's had arguably the best game of his career against the dogs the other week and Bontempelli was better that night too (according to both coaches not just me). One's a strong contributor in a bottom 8 team who rarely gets tagged. The others clearly the best mid at a team that has been top 8 in consecutive years, will be a walk up AA and gets a hard tag most weeks. Oh he's also 3 years younger.

Grundy's also been great in the second half of this year. But nobody in their right mind would take a fit Grundy over a fit NN or Goldstein if they wanted to win a match right now. With Grundy you've locked in a ten year ruckman who, with a bit of composure and improved disposal, will be a consistently strong performer but a couple of months of good footy doesn't take him past guys who have been dominant for a number of years.

Grundy is a good player that gets around the ground well and gets involved in play .

Very hard to be an elite ruckmnan when you can't take a mark however . This is why he slipped in the draft and this is his challenge going forward

Sorry it upsets you so much that someone doesn't agree with you. Nowhere near being the second best ruck in the AFL.

Well lot of People don't have much clue and Hate him just because he plays for Collingwood

Throw tippet in there too. But forget about logic, it's not going to work. If you dont think a collingwood player is da bestest then you're clearly wrong.

and I guess all collingwood are Super Duds:rolleyes:

I could say all the Anti-Collingwood post make lot of people look Stupid and Dumb

It's much too early to make a confident call, as Treloar is playing and the two picks you may have had aren't (#7 2015 & #7 2016)

You do know your recruiter and obviously your needs.
Would be interesting to come back here and see if there's a discussion to whom you may have taken with those picks.

Any idea on who it may have been last year? Guess we'll never know for sure but people will ask.

Hard to say but probably Sam Weiderman. We'd have our kpf's set for 10 year with him and Moore. Plus he has a great Collingwood connection.

Would likely have been Weideman, the same player Melbourne ended up taking with our pick that they ended up with after GWS on-traded it.

Would have been hopper.
Hopper was taken two picks before (what would have been) Collingwood's first round pick. Collingwood traded pick 7 to GWS who then traded it to Melbourne. Pick 7 became pick 9 because Sydney and GWS matched bids for Mills and Hopper.

Even if he was available and Collingwood bade for him, GWS would have obviously matched it.

you don't know that for sure.

You traded pick 7 and in the end Pick 7 was Hopper, that is all that matters.

Considering how you blokes are so happy with Treloar, why are you so scared of the fact that he was traded for Hopper.

Are you worried that Hopper will be better than Treloar?

Serious question

You don't understand how academies work, do you?

It's hard to tell whether he's taking the piss or genuinely dumb.

It's not hard to work out that Hopper was:

1) Not available to us due to being an academy player
and
2) selected before the pick we traded away, and therefore would have been unavailable in a live draft anyway.

Ummmmm no. Hopper was Giants bound. No matter what.

Maybe read up on Academy bidding.
