Well done AFC.

The Adelaide Football Club today posted a cash surplus for 2011 of $385,686.

This result is after payment of the annual sub licence fee ($619,000) and a contribution to the AAMI Stadium Northern Grandstand ($600,000

Not bad considering this year is one of the worst in our 20 year history. Also this was done on the back of being one of the club's that get the least amount of money from the AFL.

The other good news is that the nearly $1.2m worth of payments made to the SANFL may well be gone in the future once our licence agreement is reviewed. This coupled with the bonanza of moving to Adelaide Oval should see us move up the AFL Money Tree in the next few years.

Onwards and Upwards.

Not that I really care,

But interesting that you failed to mentioned this bit:

Caused by Depreciation, which you failed to mention......a magical inclusion that lower's Company taxes but has little bearing on cash.

Accountants can be magicians too:D:D:D:D

Well you are controlled by the SANFL with their man KT and it was them and the SACA with Vlad's help that got together to move football to Adelaide Oval. SO your statement is somewhat correct.

"The club recorded a consolidated operating profit of $4,801,419 for the 2010 financial year. After royalties of $2,040,846 were paid to the West Australian Football Commission, the club announced a profit of $2,760,573."

That was the year we won the wooden spoon

Sure s tough being one of the most powerful clubs in the AFL :D NOW IF ONLY we could get rid of the WAFC.

If only the owner of our playing venue/licence holder was as forward thinking as the WAFL/C. We would return such figures as well if we kept all the takings from our match day revenue and paid a flat rent to use Football Park as you guys do at Subiaco.

Your rent is about the same as what the SANFL take from each of us and Port Adelaide, around $4m a year. Yet because of the way it is paid (and not taken) you have remained a powerhouse.

No mention of the million dollar handout?

What handout?

http://mm.afl.com.au/portals/0/2011/finals/club_funding_presentation_260911.pdf

page 13 shows the amount the AFL gives all clubs for the period 2012-16. Note we are one of the few that wont get any more than the base distribution. You are probably thinking of the $1m the AFL are giving the SANFL to allow us to have a better stadium deal.

nstead, the SA Football Commission will 'unlock' additional seats and corporate facilities in the current configuration at AAMI Stadium, allowing the Crows to generate an extra $3 million between 2012-2014.

The Crows, like the Power, have been hamstrung by a disadvantageous stadium deal and dwindling crowds at AAMI Stadium, are expected to be up to $3 million a year better off at Adelaide Oval through projected increases in membership, attendances and corporate revenue.

Trigg said access to more corporate boxes and seats at AAMI Stadium in the next two or three years would give the club a better understanding of how the Adelaide Oval model would work.

It is not cash to the club, but a cleaner stadium. With an eye to the future and having a similar deal at Adelaide Oval. Somthing Haysie failed to deliver for you guys. The SANFL are getting the cash, which in a roundabout way goes to you guys.

For 2011, IIRC, we did not recieve anything extra to the base distribution. S of course there is no mention of any additional funding or "handout" if you like.

we were grilled by the media, we fought for it..you just said "me too" like you are doing since 1990.Thats what happens when you have no soul.

Actually Haysie had no idea it was happening............

How would a new deal at AAMI Stadium influence the need to look at other venues, such as Adelaide Oval, as an alternative playing ground?
We’ll look at all sensible options. The thing about Adelaide Oval is that we can’t control where we play. The SANFL controls us and our home ground is AAMI. We would only pursue Adelaide Oval as an option for us if that was something the SANFL thought was going to be a ‘best for footy’ option.

We, along with the Adelaide Football Club, the SANFL and AFL, are very united in driving what’s best for SA footy overall. If it meant that Adelaide Oval was a viable option for all of us then we would certainly be keen to explore that. We wouldn’t explore that on our own without working with the SANFL.

Do you think a new stadium closer to the CBD is financially viable at present?
I don’t think it is. Obviously you need to look at all the options but in the current economic climate, I don’t think a new stadium would be the right option. There are probably a number of other priorities for the government at the moment, whether that be education in schools, hospitals or roads. I think all those things would be a priority compared to a new stadium. Down the track, there may be some appeal to a new city stadium but right now I don’t think that would be the responsible thing to do.

A month or two later the SACA and SANFL announced they had come together to move footy to Adelaide Oval after a few months negotiating. Haysie had no clue.

I love this interview. It shows just how stupid you lemmings are in believing Haysie and your club had anything to do with the move.

True Trigg did not jump at moving once first suggested by the SACA and SANFL. But after investigating the planned returns and seeing it is good for our clubs future he agreed.

In other words you received a handout.

Nope. Handouts are charity and generally just cash.

We negotiated a better stadium deal and got the AFL to compensate the SANFL.

Your $4m is needed for poor cashflow. Ours is fine, we didnt need a cash injection. You do realise that poor cashflow is the main reasons a business will fail.

So the AFL gave the SANFL $3m and the SANFL gave you a better stadium deal worth $3m.

You're right, that's not a handout from the AFL.

So "Me too" :D thanks for admitting it.:thumbsu:

No acknowledgement of how Haysie had no clue???
Which is not unlike his sponsorship generation for Port.

Sounds like KT may already have exceeded Haysie in that respect........SANFL did well in appointing their man.

so why do you need the 1 million then? you get enough bumson the seats. You have 50k members blah blah....It was a gift from the AFL, however you wanna call it...you needed it

not the point , the point is...you guys are hanging on to our coat tails. As i said, follow us, you will go places. We are a real club, you are a corporation

You're right, that's not a handout from the AFL.

The difference is you guys are getting cash to pay current bills and remain solvent.

We have been given access to more of the revenue generated on match day. And if structured/packaged differently to how the SANFL do it can actually generate more than the SANFL deemed $3m worth.

You guys got a fish, we are going fishing.

Meanwhile when Whicker says jump KT will ask how high.

As Rooch said, the SANFL approve all major expenditure at your "club".

so you got a favourable terms and conditions with the SANFL as a handout in disguise. Thanks for admitting it.

And my main point was, The A.O was our thing, you didnt wanna get in first..then your mob started saying we are united with Port (when you realised what you will get). Seriously, lay off the drugs mate.Adelaide Crows "me too" since 1990 :D
