Tagged AmericanCrow in for this, having seen his post in another thread. He predicted us to pull away after a tight first 3 quarters.Been their bitches for a long time. Lost 9 of our past 10 against them, including 0-4 at AO. Good reason for your nagging doubt.
Shocking record so I see no reason for the general trend of optimism.
If I see them handball sideways from congestion on the flank, to an unmarked player in the corridor, who then dobs a long goal, I will spew.
8 and 3 at home isn't a bad record..... one of those 3 was against this mob though.Should rarely, if ever, lose a home game. Last year was pathetic. Looking for a win today, otherwise I'll be wondering where their heads are.
This is a fair point, but the optimism comes from having a large portion of our best 22 back and super fit. Kelly is a more than adequate short term Brown replacement too, given the Hawks are 1 side that have troubled Luke in the past. Mackay is..... well yep let's move on.Been their bitches for a long time. Lost 9 of our past 10 against them, including 0-4 at AO. Good reason for your nagging doubt
Shocking record so I see no reason for the general trend of optimism. Think we can win, but will be no surprise at all if we don’t
Brouch, Mrouch, Sloane, Gibbs. That's a ******* midfield.
If we still had Dangerfield, that'd be criminal.

We haven't beaten them at home since the move to AO, today has to be the day.
The 2nd tier is probably the weak point with Greenwood a week or 2 away and Gooch probably a few more. We need a couple others to step up and do their bit.Brouch, Mrouch, Sloane, Gibbs. That's a ******* midfield.

Crows have been a mixed bag in Round 1 over the last 4-5 years. Either lost a close one by a few goals or annihilated the opponent by 40+. Let's hope it's the latter this afternoon.
Yet I spotted your vote in the pollBrouch, Mrouch, Sloane, Gibbs. That's a ******* midfield.

If we still had Dangerfield we wouldn't have Gibbs, but yes, it would be insanely good.
No we would have got Gibbs. That was something we'd be desperately trying to do for a decade.
We wouldn't have the money for him.
You can always find the money for players. Back ending pay, forcing lesser players out etc.
Sydney, Hawks and Geelong are prime examples here.
Yet I spotted your vote in the poll
No faith in a win ?
Maybe Danger will conclude he ****ed up and he wants a premiership before he retires and he comes back next year..Brouch, Mrouch, Sloane, Gibbs. That's a ******* midfield.

We could always replace players like Otten, Douglas, Mackay, Hartigan, Kelly, Knight with talented youngsters but that wouldn’t really be the AFC way.One of those 5 would be squeezed out. There's a salary cap, you know!
Gibbs isn't on a huge deal, we would have found a way. Probably by losing some depth and not having a guy like Seedsman around. One of those 5 would be squeezed out. There's a salary cap, you know!
