exactly. a review is a farce if there are pre-determined outcomes.

just doing the bare minimum for optics to make the members happy, but not actually looking for change
and it ****ing shits us supporters.

Getting a review done by people who already survived an internal review no longer than 24 months ago is a pathetic April fools Joke.

I know people like to see what they want as you have (accolades not role and recognition).

When ask about Geelong, people will nearly always go on about Dangerfield, and Selwood, and Cameron, and Hawkins. Whilst Gutherie is a genuine gun, I don't think he gets the real recognition he probably deserves.

And in no way was I suggesting Snelling was or is as good as those two :rolleyes:

You called them no names and used them as an example to show how important Snelling is/wasn't recognized for it outside the 4 walls of your club...I'm not sure what else that was supposed to infer, but my mistake I guess.

Better examples may have been younger guys like Balta and Parfitt, who have important roles and huge upside - but aren't recognized or revered as much by the wider footballing community yet, IMO.

P.S. I actually like Snelling and see his tenacity and ability to play both mid and forward, as a huge asset - just don't think you can put him in the same class as the aforementioned two you cited as comparable examples.

It's not really about best players, it's more to do with, best team.

Most can identify good players, but identifying players of need is where people are arguing that he fails.
It is also about best players as well. I’d guess that every other club would comfortably have a better top 3 over the journey than he’s managed to bring in.

As mentioned, it was in reference to him not being a 'big name' but being a highly important player.

Definitely about best teams mate. In 2015, we had probably one of the best spines in the AFL (Hurley/Hooker - Daniher, Watons, Carlisle, Hurley/Hooker)

We had very little to no midfield outside Jobe and perhaps Brendon Goddard. A couple of ok rucks (Ryder and Hill) but very little top end talent outside that, enough to get us a win in finals anyways.

Hurley/hooker/Carlisle/daniher had four AA’s between them in their time at Essendon. Obviously not the ultimate determinate of quality but also shows that they weren’t exceptional footballers for their time. Watson has two AA’s, two of them just happen to be the “injection” years. (Not mentioning Watson and Daniher we’re father sons)

Again, have a feeling a lot of teams could put together a lot better 5 players than that for the period Dodorro has been there.

I believe bar Daniher, that spine are all convicted drug cheats ?
How good were they unassisted ?
Their careers and reputations will always remain in question …

The biggest consolation to Essendon not being booted by the AFL for their blatant systematic doping program is the fact that at least they have Dodoro to blow the #1 pick.

20 years into a rebuild and going absolutely nowhere. Feel sorry for the poor campaigner they pick at #3 this year.

Agree Yoda. The administration is treating the members as fools. Thinking they're idiots and will swallow the bulltish review.

As for that bloke burning his scarf...totally understand. For change to happen (and it needs to happen off field before things will get better on-field), the members need to get active.

The list is bad, gameplan is bad, captain is one of their worst players.

The Bombers were really putting in yesterday, but couldn’t reign in a Carlton side running around in 2nd gear.

Hard to see a once great club fall so far down.*

*Not really.

You aren’t telling us nothing most of us don’t know but there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.
Fans have abandoned the club as witnessed by the pathetic crowd last night and yet absolutely nothing will change

Definitely sucks for Bomber fans.

Reminds me of us in 2014-2015, but your current list is slightly better/has more young talent.

No real hope week-to-week because the squad isn’t great and there is no consistency with their play.

Heppell is the Bombers Marc Murphy.

Just need to put a broom through a lot of the club and salvage what they can. Hobbs, Perkins etc will be Essendon’s better players in a couple of years anyway.

You're just mad you picked Ward over Hobbs lol

There is no light at the end of the tunnel for us and the club is stuffed royally under the current set up.
Members and fans can’t get rid of the board and so they will just continue what they are doing. Look at all the garbage appointments Brasher and Xavier have made and how no one at board level is accountable. Nothing will change until the whole lot are gone and this ain’t happening

When do a march to the ground and stand by Hird, I think that is the members saying "we stick by you"

So I think you have yourselves to blame

In some regards yes but I don’t know how many marched but I’d suggest they don’t speak for all the members.
I would estimate that the majority of members want the board and Dodoro gone but there is no way of making it happen

I also remember when the drug saga was on, you had record membership didn't you?

That's really telling them you are upset.

I like Hobbs. He's a step in the right direction for the Bombers.

Not what we need at the moment. We've got too many ball hunters and not enough people to distribute to.
