At face value it doesn't make sense but if you think about needing to try and retain Harley and put some pressure/set some standards on the rest of the team then maybe bringing in established players isn't such a bad idea... plus the top WA prospect is tipped to go around 12, and then there's the potential Warner trade next year
In that context, drafting a new player at pick 3 who may want to go home after 2 years of losing doesn't seem so smart

I’m convinced Norf fans must be the dumbest campaigners of them all. All they were doing on their board was complaining that we weren’t accepting pick 60 something for Parker who would become the best player on their list next to Sheezel and LDU for a CONTRACTED player. Absolutely ****ing numbskull supporter base, never knew they were that ****ed in the head, I hope they remain a basket case for years to come. And then they get Parker and Konstanty (a former first round pick) for 44 and they are still barely satisfied. That’s my melt for the day
