I guess Switchblade is the next challenger?

Probably still Darby... Although they may be looking at a Fourway with White & Page as well.

I know they want to blur the face/heel lines a little, but they're going overboard.

That was a good twist.

Bruh... that kick to the champagne bottle while wearing heels

For something I only decided to order 15 minutes before the show, I thought it was excellent. A couple of phenomenal matches, and I feel about better about some stories coming out of it.

Garcia declares for the C2 on the post-show media scrum.

Did anyone watch this? Is it worth bothering with?

I suspect not, Toni had been the only real reason to watch them up until she lost the belt.

Also, **** Wendi Richter.

I almost didn't purchase it, because the show hasn't been on fire week to week and I wasn't completely sold with the main event.

I deadset felt as though I'd wasted $30 after that opening match, which broke down into a mess without much crowd reaction to lift it up.

Thankfully things started to pick up a bit.

Didn't expect Statlander vs Mone to be as good as it was.

Hangman and Jay White had another banger.

Ospreay vs Fletcher was everything I wanted it to be!

Thought Garcia had a great night, and although the title needed to be taken off Perry ASAP, I didn't expect it to happen just yet.

The main event exceeded my expectations. The crowd was absolutely there for it, which helped too.

I also didn't mind the chaotic ending. Always means the following weeks television is must-see.

4 way tag match was solid. Was a bit weird with both The Acclaimed tagged in at one point though.

Mone vs Statlander was terrific.

Ospreay vs Fletcher was outstanding, massive win for Fletcher.

What the hell happened to Mariah May's eye? Massive shiner there. Damn Mariah was going to turn on Mina, awesome kick from Mina to shatter the bottle.

Cool for Garcia to get the TNT Title.

Big win for Lashley, that Swerve Stomp through the announce table was great.

Also in the main event I legit thought after that shot with the case that Cassidy was gonna win the world title. Also Darby is nuts, the man willingly had a car crash wtf. All the other stuff with Hangman, Christian Cage, White felt overbooked.

Mone was super snappy during her presser, in character obviously.

Big Boom AJ open to wrestling a few times a year. No title shots though lol.

Tony Khan became a wrestling fan because on a GI Joe cartoon Sgt Slaughter was a voice actor and he found out he was a wrestler and checked it out.

Watched most of it while only catching bits and pieces of the weekly shows for the past few months.
Great action, and a few decent story lines, but I still worry for the direction AEW is heading. I feel like management/Tony get too focused on distractions (like spending big coin on November Rain), and not just focusing on entertaining weekly story lines and angles. (Or improving the overall look and flow to the shows - far too often it still feels like I’m watching and seeing an amateur production)

That ending with Cage was pure shite. I think the crowd thought it was almost a face turn, but nope, just a failed "cash in", which always makes the face who intervenes look bad.

Darby is great at what he does - that would have been enough!

But my biggest issue is what the hell has happened to MJF?
Is he sick or something? He looks.. Weird, his creativity is at all time lows, he does a LOT of pre-recorded videos passed off as "via satellite", and to top it all off, he's out there breaking the fourth wall by calling the company "dog shit" on a live PPV that people have paid for.

Who and what even is he any more? I don't think I've seen a guys "value" drop as much as he has in the past 12 months.
Something is seriously off with him

Edit: I get his schtick has always been ripping on the fans, but combine that now with what appears a real total lack of engagement of giving a ****, and like I said, almost a disregard for his appearance, and this just feels different - and not in a good wink wink nudge nudge way..

Hope whatever role it is, is slightly more prominent than his “cameo” in the Iron Claw final Cut..

Kinda get the feeling MJF is more focused on his exit strategy for hollywood than his career at the moment. No point really putting him in a prominent position if he's in and out.
