Pretty good so far, definately an improvement.
In 2007 I would love to see players having run/walk ups when having set shots for goals, and before the game have that channel 10 thing where they go through each line, from a ground view with the big pictures.

I've managed to hold the FF to only 1 or 2 goals in all my games so far, I just double team them with Leigh Brown and Archer.

You can do this in 2006 quite easily and reallistically.
 
A new con I found (probably already discussed)

2 mins games, yet other matches continue to be played at a realistic rate resulting in realistic scores. No chance of winning the Coleman :(

It's not much at the moment but hey, It's a start.

I'll be adding more in the next few days (banners, logos etc.) but for now, it's pretty basic. Maximum of 16mb of uploads but thats enough for a sh*t load of pics and we will just have to link to vids for now.

BTW, joining up takes no time, just a validation e-mail :thumbsu:

Started my first season, just kept it on easy

Wizard Cup i lead the hawks all game, untill rainesy injured his ankle, no one else could keep up with willo on the lead he kicked 3 in the last qtr on gaspar and then 1 more on hartigan hawks lead by a goal with about a minute left, pattison punched the ball down to polo who bombed it long, spillage in the pocket browny picks up the ball and snaps , siren goes, ball sails thru the goals, game ends in a draw, so then we had 2 qtrs of extra time , hawks kicked 1 point with 15 seconds left of extra time to beat me. bloody shatted.

Pettifer kicked 5 for me and Hyde 3.

First game of the season vs the doggies and its half time and im 7 goals 5 to the Dogs 1.8.

Richo has 4 goals. Tuck 16 possesions allready
 
I have a question for those who have finished a season. Does it show the top 10 goal kickers for the entire season or for clubs at the end? Since there are no season stats I'm tracking my full forward at the moment.

Promising to see that people are happy with this game - yet to try it but will be renting before buying in order to conserve my cash resources.

Those who are a bit dissappointed about not having season stat tracking or other wanted inclusions - should be dissappointed however should be happy with the gameplay.

Take last years attempt - the main selling point for the game was the amount of features it had. But the gameplay was horrible.

It reminds me of the saying - Why make a thousand flavours of ice cream when you can't do Vanilla right.

can anyone tell me is the player profile is in this game where u check ur wins losses average margins etc an if so to wat extent cos it was good in 04 but last year i dont think had it
 
The game is definately a geniune improvement on previous efforts ... so well done to FH and the IR Gurus team for putting the AFL title somewhat back on track after its major derailment last year.

Ive had limited time to play the game so far, and im prolly a bit more critical in some ways than others, so im kinda rating it at about the 6.5/10 mark as opposed to the 8's and 9's ive seen.

I enjoy the fact the game flows a fair bit better, and all the basics are somewhat in place, and the camera angles, although not perfect are much better than 05's.

However some things that I think can still be perhaps worked on and hopefully implemented for the 07 or future versions is still a better overall dynamic feel in the gameplay.

I think the main thing I'd like to see improved gameplay wise would be all about the physical dynamics of the players.

- Shift in momentum and movement of players when there moving at speed and change direction which would shift there weight and center of balance.
(PES 5 do this quite well) In AFL2006 it seems to me that the players are moving constantly at the same high speed in any direction no matter how sharp the turn or movement.

- Being able to use and feel the players body in contests against each other.
It does still happen alot in the real thing, but in this game im seeing just a horde of players lining up one by one to each have a go at the mark, players should more often be putting there body on there opponent, in much the same way the rucks are contested, but difference is more often than not there moving toward the ball at the same time.

You should also be able to more so feel the greater inertia, weight and strength of a bigger bodied opponent in these contests with them more likely to push you outa the way if your a small rover.

- Better Contesting in general for the high ball.
The system in place isnt perfect, my main gripes are you have to be right on top of your opponent as a defender to make a spoil, and alot of the time when going for a mark or punch, players only a matter of meters away wont even reach there hands up in the vacinity of the football when you feel if he just threw his hand up he woulda punched it away or marked it.

Further to that, they dont seem to want to even jump at the contest if your even just a meter off the best position. I feel that has to be reworked, you should be able to jump for a punch or mark for any given contest whether your right under the ball or 2-3 meters away with only a remote chance of contacting the ball ( just in the same manor you can attempt a block or rebound in any given position on basketball games)

They would be my main things i would look to work on to create a better game, there are many other things as well, some i have allready seen mentioned in previous posts.

- One last minor thing. The name of the nearest computer opponent in the contest should also be constantly listed on the screen , because you cant tell from a distance just who is chasing you, but in real life if you saw if was a lumbering ruckman you might take them on for pace, but if you saw it was Aaron Davey, youd move the ball on.

Was in 05 also..
Still similar to that.
If you use a profile it will keep track of just about everything you do.
Some examples are...
Wins
Losses
Winning streak
Losing streak
Greatest winning margain
Greatest losing margain
Goals kicked (total)
Points
Super goals
LONGEST GOAL :)

Don't know how you guys play it on hard. Went back to easy after losing on normal..
 
Yeah i dont know how you guys can play this on Hard. I'm back on easy after continuously getting wacked by 50 points on normal.

That really needs to be fixed as that can be annoying! Hopefully if FH takes all this feedback it will be an amazing game next year
 
Just noticed that in the wet, blondes have slightly darker hair. Kinda brownish, like what happens in real life....
Makes ya think how many little things have actually been thought about by the creators, but usually go unnoticed by gamers.
 
Be great if the AFL assisted you in some funding so you could make the game you really could make(not bagging it) and think of the growing popularity of the sport if the game took off overseas.


Something like the espn or ea and pro evo series.

Small steps I know.

Probably the most realistic score. If the game was really a 9, than next years game would just have to update the teams and send it off.

Believe it or not there are 200 new names added to the database. Combined with the 700 names of AFL listed players it should create a better percentage. Given the randomness of player name generation you'll probably find that next season there'll be less players in the draft with current AFL players names.

When I played 10 seasons I found there were drafts where many of the names were new and others where the names were mixes of AFL player names. It's purely random.

In 2007 the hope is to have editable player names and a greater database of names to begin with so you can do what you want, how you want.
