So does everyone still think Richmond are going to be the big slider? A harder draw was one of the main reasons sited.

They're doubling up against Sydney, Essendon, Brisbane, St Kilda, GWS.

Two tough doubles and 3 easier ones.

Not too sure where the tigs will end up next season, my feeling is it will be more of the same as this year.

We got a little lucky last year with playing teams at the right time, a depleted freo, hawthorn in the 3/4 season lull and essendon in the deadest of rubbers in rd 23. Even with those wins as losses, we still make the 8.

So I think between 6-8 for the tiges

My predictions statements
  • North Melbourne to finish top 4.
  • Richmond to barely make the 8.
  • St. Kilda to be all over the papers next year for off field instability which will also result in onfield chaos.
  • Melbourne have 8 wins.
  • GWS to finish last again.
  • Western Bulldogs to finish 8th-12th.
  • Gold Coast to make finals.

I'm thinking along similar lines but don't be negative about the Tiges they'll be top 6, I can see Melb with 5-7 wins, if the Dogs are any chance of being a top 8 contender we must make a statement early in the season against WCE, North and Rich, doubt it though I'd be happy with 10th-13th and more wins than last season hoping to breakout in 2015 when more youngsters are mature. Gold Coast could defo be bolters like Port was.

The fact that they only beat shit side and Hawthorn who they have a good record against

Hmmm, there must be a lot of "shit sides" given the only teams we didn't beat were Geelong, Sydney (in Sydney), North and Collingwood. Everyone else, we beat at least once (including both Grand Finalists for the second year in a row).

Post Fixture how I see the Top 8:

1. Fremantle
2. Sydney
3. Hawthorn
4. Richmond
5. Collingwood
6. Geelong
7. Essendon

You didn't beat Fremantle in 2012 (lost both games) and it was one all in 2013.

Seedstain, you have no idea my friend. I will ask you though, how much do you charge for a kilo of coconuts ?

Look what happens when the game gets hard you fade out look at the 3 times you played Carlton you faded out in all of them look at when you played Geelong and Collingwood, you faded out of the game

So then based on your previous post and your example above, you believe seedstain that carlton, geelong and collingwood are shit ?

I like the fact you have even tipped draws

Mate read what the post says. When the game gets tough against a good side you just fade away. Richmond fans are all the same they are either burning the membership or talking about the flag

I think you misread my post Spoken4 - when I said we beat both Grand finalists in 2013, I meant that was the second year in a row we had beaten both teams competing in the GF (i.e we beat both Hawthorn and Sydney in 2012 and yourselves once and Hawthorn in 2013).

While I agree with you to an extent that we can struggle against some teams (Carlton, Geelong and Collingwood come to mind), I think that given our relatively young list, more experience and maturity can help us overcome these more battle hardened teams (Geelong and Collingwood are both recent premiers while Carlton have both a good recent record and mostly, a more senior list to our own).

In saying that though, we have also grinded out some wins when the game has been on the line. The Hawthorn win, our best win of the season, we led at the start of the third quarter but lost the lead before eventually getting back on top.

Our win over Freo, we led nearly all day but every time we skipped out to a 3-4 goal lead, Freo would fight back and bring it back to within 10 points - at 1 stage in the last quarter we led by only 8 points with 10 mins played after Freo went back to back goals.

There were plenty of other games I can think where we stood up and got the win. Port Adelaide away after Knights went down with a sickening injury, breaking our Cairns hoodoo vs Gold Coast with a gutsy 9 point win after GC kicked the last goal of the match with about 4 mins to go and looked like they were coming home hard. The win against West Coast when no one gave us a chance.

Yes there is definitely still improvement to be made but I think even the most ardent critics would at least agree progress is being made.

I think from 9-13 the competition is as strong as it's been since I've been watching Footy from 2000. There's a lot of teams that are interchangeable in that area.

I'll have a stab at it now.

P Team Win Loss
1 Fremantle 16 6
2 Hawks 15 7
3 Sydney 15 7
4 Richmond 14 8
5 Essendon 13 9
6 Geelong 13 9
7 North Melbourne 13 9
8 Adelaide 12 10
9 Gold Coast 12 10
10 Port 11 11
11 Westcoast 11 11
12 Carlton 10 12
13 Collingwood 10 12
14 Western Bulldogs 9 13
15 Brisbane 7 15
16 Saints 7 15
17 Melbourne 6 16
18 GWS 4 18

PS - nothing against collingwood / Carlton, i did a little ladder predictor in excel, and this is how it turned out - draws not that nice for them, and others near, like WCE/ Port & GC have easier ones. CBF with %ages so teams with equal wins might swap spots :)

I was at the game against Fremantle and I thought Freo were shocking on the spread on the MCG and you cut them up out wide. When the pressure is on the Richmond players go back in to there shell and it hurts you.
