I agree with everything you've said but the reason Richmond supporters keep saying that about North is because one of your players actually said they treated it like a GF after the game. From memory it was Todd Goldstein.
It would have been due to the fact that at that stage we had to win just about every game remaining to make the 8.

From memory he said something along the lines of "we have to treat every game from here on like a final" because we basically couldn't afford to lose any more games if we wanted to make the 8. Bit different to saying "North were playing their GF"

Nope, your coach backed it up. He basically said the reason Gold said what he said because you beat a top 8 side. Showed in that game that you will be a force yada yada yada. I took it as a way to validate your close losses and missing finals. Really surprised by the reaction after the game, was similar in strangeness to the Bombers celebrating that win in a NAB game against St kilda.

You're memory is wrong mate :)

Yeah, I don't think so mate. Just re-watched Brad's post-match interview and he didn't say any of that stuff. Nice try though :)

Not the one straight after the game, the interview on the monday tuesday. it was on 360 as well. I'll dig it up when i get home from work, have it on the IQ still I think
Wow, it means THAT much to you that you IQ'd it? I think that really goes against the point you are trying to make.

Dude, dont go all bay flog on me. I normally record 360 as I have dinner with the family that time and *gasp* I dont have the TV on when my family eats. Old school family time is the way to go imo.

They've treated it like a grand final ever since they lost to us in that grand final ! :D they love getting up for the big one

Sorry guys, went home and wife deleted them for dancing with the stars

Anyway who gives a shit, really ? I know Goldy mentioned it and I am sure, I heard what I heard but hey, what ya gonna do ?

It was actually Nathan Grima who said it on SEN. He said "We look at the game against Richmond like a Grand Final every year"

Thanks Groupie!

Sorry about my error, at least you know I was being fairdinkum though, just got the wrong bloke

Nope, sorry, wrong again. The Grima SEN interview is here and the bit about Richmond is right at the start. What he actually said was that the teams have similar age demographic and draft picks and that "We've always tried to set ourselves to stay one step ahead of Richmond." No mention at all of finals (except for later in the interview talking about the Tigers banner that day :D:D).

Keeping the faith even when all evidence is against you. A true Richmond supporter!

Same can be said about you blokes considering both our RECENT histories :p Lets not ride off into the sunset on our high horses just yet

Haha agree the two sides have been very even recently but you have to admit the Tigers have the most optimistic fans in the league. Everyone knows that.
