Hawthorn have received the least free kicks of any club in the league in 2021, by a fair margin. Same thing last year too.

But yeah....freekickhawthorn. 🥴

Well......... not exactly close to being robbed of a grand final berth is it?..... *cough 2012 prelim *cough
THAT game is particularly why #freekickhawthorn exists, and will never be erased.

The game from 9 years ago where Hawthorn had 16 more inside 50’s, and only two more frees, but it was the free kicks that won them the game.

You're cooked. 😂

Head fudgery so bad that you don't even know when it started.

It started after puopolo got a free kick to kick the march winner in 2015 I think(despite it actually being a clear mark)

Not even a little bit. I was pretty amazed by the backlash. Watching it live I knew it was front on contact and the whistle came at the exact time I expected it to.

Great. The fact you didn't hear any backlash comes from the fact you were sitting with your fellow home ground supporters. Cool.

If you watched it you would have seen Himmelberg watching the ball the entire time and get the ball on the spoil. That isn't what the rule was designed to eliminate but whatever, you won, grats etc.

Hilarious. 32 scoring shots to 22, 64 inside 50s to 38, in that prelim. But of course
it was the two extra free kicks we got that decided the game?

I like a good umpiring whinge as much as anyone, but is there a group of fans that complains more about being robbed by umpiring in finals than those
from Adelaide?

"RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!"

I watched it live on TV. I plan on re-watching it tonight so i'll look out for the incident again. All i'm saying is that in real time as it happened I thought it was a free kick every day of the week.

I look forward to your unbiased view.

I don't think it cost us the game, we lost that through playing a poor second half. But if that's a free kick then the running back spoil is dead. Sad.

Free kick Hawthorn was a manifestation that came to pass in 2016, not 2012. Lol.

And that 2012 game you refer to was a pantsing everywhere but the scoreboard. Crows were lucky to be that close.

2016 I think... The Puopolo one came the week after the Saints had that "play on, no 15" call on them. But yep you're correct it was years off being coined in 2012.

My "favourite" umpiring decision from the 2012 Prelim was late in the 4th quarter with the Hawks leading by 2 goals... David Hale took a nice intercept mark at CHB... Porplyzia arrived late and delivered a round arm "spoil" to his head and knocked him out. Schoenmakers stepped in, saying "WTF dude?!!?' and pushed Porplyzia in the chest. Porp went to ground like he'd been shot by a sniper perched on top of the MCG scoreboard.

Hale was unconscious on the ground when the ump gifted Adelaide one of the worst free kicks I have ever seen. Porplyzia accepted his birthday present and put the Crows within a kick. One minute later, they'd kicked another and they were in front... and Crows fans later had the audacity to complain about the umpiring after that bit of charity :drunk::drunk::drunk:

Just for the record... Free kicks in that game: Adelaide 21, Hawthorn 24.
Get back to us when you see a 0-11 free kick count in the 1st quarter, or 10-29 for the match.

Even if he was watching the ball, he still chopped the arms anyway, regardless of whether contact was front on or not.
Don't think we would've won either way but this cant be serious. Have you watched it? Doesn't touch his arm, all ball.
