What makes him better than Brown at the same age?

Joe Daniher is an athletic freak. He was taking speccies and kicking goals on the run from outside fifty. McKay has rarely ever done this. He is not that kind of player.
I doubt McKay could even kick a drop punt from fifty let alone outside.

I think you are WAY off base on this one

So he's a better player than Ben Brown despite the fact Brown was averaging 2.3 goals per game before his 26th birthday?

Joe Daniher is just a different athlete entirely to McKay. Curnow is a better comparison to Daniher (athletically).
You've been bagging Harry for months now....and been proven wrong about everything you've ever penned..but I guess persistence is a thing.

You may run deeper than Melbourne , but you are no way better than Melbourne, they will get the ball inside 50 enough to win.IMO.

I would also argue Melbourne has a better defense, but of course you will most likely argue against that.

Anyway, I am tipping Melbourne, they, imo are the better team and will win running away.
Agreed, Melbourne by 50 points, Fritsch to kick 7

Time to end this cheesy Carlton run

You don't think your forward line functions perfectly fine without him?

All you have to do to understand Harry's importance is to see the scoring rate diminish when he goes off. The whole forward set up is changed because Charlie then had to run downfield and take the boundary marks- and then turn around and kick it to -no one....easy intercept marks ensued....

Yes he has the yips in front of goal- but that doesn't define his total value to the team or the way Carton structures up.

People who bag him on BF a re just expressing their inner nuffie - all you have to do to understand this stuff is hit pause on any replay and check out how the team is structured in any field position - not rocket science.

Huge out as may be Martin.

Our scoring dried up after he was injured during the year (the West Coast game aside), and dried up again on Friday night after he was injured. Across the quarters we went 3-4-3 goals (H gets injured) 1 goal.

Way too simplistic and doesn't respect the way we play or the opposition.

Actually he is spot on with his understanding of the role Harr has been asked to play and has played well since he has come back.

But you proceeded to kick the next 3 goals in a row (Martin, Cerra, Cripps) after McKay left the field?

Again, no respect given to Sydney.
They were always going to make a game of it as they were a little better than we predicted. Warner, Gulden, Parker . . . these guys stepped it up in the last quarter and your mids looked sluggish and tired in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Hence why Melbourne's midfield should get on top and finish off your season.

Have a look at the last 25-20 minutes...they got repeat easy intercept marks we had no marking height down there...

Because we panicked and bombed it in without looking. The one goal we got was a lower kick that hit the ground.

We kick more goals when we lower our eyes and kick to advantage. Many from crumbs and contested ball inside 50

Uh, no we didn't.
H got injured with 2:28 left on the clock in the 3rd. Carlton's score was 10.6
We finished with a score of 11.8

I'm going off what Dtlive states so sorry if it is incorrect.

Interestingly, if he did leave the field at that time of the game, the margin was already 15 points the difference which indicates his absence really had no bearing on the final outcome as you were getting beaten around the ground prior to this. It remained a 2 goal buffer until the final 30 seconds.

Huh?
We were 21 points up when he got injured, and won by 6.

you really need to get your facts working with your narrative otherwise it is just a story you like to tell yourself.

I don't get this argument that the Blues are better off without McKay. Sure he's a disastrous kick at goal but he's still a huge bloke who can and does clunk marks, they come in handy in September. Curnow will really have his work cut out against May and Lever without McKay there.
