The Lions will be favourites but with the rest and some key players back, we can give this a right old crack.

Hopefully that will be enough to get the win. We do owe the Lions a beating after last year as well!

Brissy will be nervous!

Their form is patchy - looked very average at home V Essendon & previous games.

Lost their game against us at the Gabba this year.

Carlton with a few handy inns will benefit from a week to freshen up - Curnow, McKay, Williams, McGovern, Martin, Boyd, Cerra.

Could Docherty play since doing his ACL v Brisbane Round zero? Reports are he’s been in full training.

The Blues will need to balance their ins, hopefully keeping some of the kids we’ve been playing who just crack in.

Lord, Binns & Moir have been a revelation.

no they didn't,

Brisbane absolutely dominated us, had they kicked remotely straight we would have lost by 60+.

Would be happy to leave out Martin, Williams, and Cerra to be honest. They are all banged up. If curnow is buggered, he can stay home too .

I think Curnow, McKay, Williams and McGovern are cetainties.

TDK also a red hot chance - although Pitto has been better.

TBH - I’d like to see Martin as sub - one quarter either forward, mid or back.

Not a fan of the pre-finals bye, but where it is a big help is for a banged up team like the Blues. At their best (which we haven’t seen for a while) they can serve it right up to Brisbane and make this a good game. Hopefully they can find some of that form and give us neutrals a classic final.

Disagree - they never kick straight.

Patchy!

for your sake i hope they dont.

But they had over 30 scoring shots against us to our 17.... that's a belting any way you slice it

Fingers crossed for a cracking game. We did so well early in the season to set ourselves up for top 4, then started racking up injuries and playing horrible footy for the past few months.
Not expecting to make as much noise this year as we did last year, due to our form dip of late, but keen to get more finals experience into this side.

Players that will be looking to be available for the Blues:
Cerra, Curnow, TDK, McKay, Gov, Martin (I hope we don't bring him in personally), and the biggest one of all (but probably the least likely)... Docherty.

Looks like Lions have two on their list who are 1 week away; Payne and Reville. Are either of them best 23? Did you guys cop any injuries in this week's game? There's nothing on the match report.
Hopefully will be 2 teams at virtually full strength.

Everything says Brisbane should win this. It's the most one sided of all the finals in the opening round. That is why I think Carlton are a dangerous chance to pinch it before bowing out at a later stage.
