The young fella with the perm looks all at sea. Understandably. Lack of runners. Can't break the lines. Getting tackled in traffic, picked off like a shooting gallery.

By good teams as well. It’d be different if we’re seeing it from bottom four teams but too many top 8-10 teams are putting up shocking quarters/halves/games of footy from a scoring perspective.

I think this game was 13-12 or similar at the halfway point of the first quarter. So we’ve seen less than 40 points collectively from both teams in the next 1.5 quarters of footy. In absolutely perfect conditions on a big ground.

I don’t know if it’s good defense, poor offense, conservative gameplans or a combination of several factors. But it’s ******* boring to watch.

My honest opinion is that a combination of 6-6-6 and hyper defensive deadball gameplans exemplified by Collingwood 2022-2023: absolutely kill the ball if you're not going to win clean possession going forward, and corral the ball until you're tackled. Build momentum and then kill the opposition. Great for the winning team but shocking for the opposing team and the neutral supporter. Collingwood games were great to watch initially but the whole league has adjusted and now we see games where both teams struggle to kick 12 goals. It's the opposite to what the Warriors did to the NBA with hyper offensive long range gameplans that killed defense and made the league insufferable to watch. Different cause but same effect. 6-6-6 killed flooding but basically forced the game into a rugby scrum.

Like seriously even for Brisbane's dominance they still might struggle to score 100.
