Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

I wonder what Marker's Up will be like in this game.

And AFL 23 has loads more customisation than AFL Live, not to mention the cross-platform sharing of stadiums, etc etc.

Anyone finding it impossible to stop the oppo when they get the momentum out the middle? Was up by 6 goals on hard at 3/4 time and conceded an 11 goal quarter. Could not do a thing. They no joke kicked 5 goals in the last minute

We need something so it can adjust gameplay speed, watched a game with AI vs AI, they kick like 2-3 goals in quick patches, and they always rush the ball movement, is this going to be adjusted so say when AI is up by say 2+ goals with 2 mins to go, they slow the play right down like they would usually do in real life?

Gameplay actually feels pretty decent tonight… obviously there’s some bugs and glitches still hanging around, but general play feels quite nice/realistic now.

Findings on the latest update on ps4:

Playing a few games of season mode purely to test in-game play, did not bother looking at any other features of the mode.

Pros:

• Most I’ve actually had fun playing yet
• Handballs are much improved
• Getting a late spoil/closing ground much improved
• Rucking feels balanced
• Set shots seem to require more skill
• I like getting a little dribble kick off when the AI closes an unrealistic amount of ground (maybe this one’s a neutral, but it’s helped the situation)
• Congestion from previous patch seems improved on
• I’m gonna kiss you guys for adding a bounce button as requested by so many of us.
• Moving the ball around on the counter feels nice

Cons:

• Players still don’t feel agile enough when turning or receiving the ball
• A couple instances of only being able to run backwards
• Players entering protected are (minor issue for me personally)
• instances where I marked a kick out, cannot move, not tackleable (is that a word?) Only option is to handball to break the glitch
• Still plenty of crashes, couldn’t launch a play now game

Just need to cross Sydney and Essendon off my list 5 goal win at minimum, hoping to win by 1000+ when I'm brave enough to try full length quarters and hope for no crashes!

2. Seems like no reason to as my players dont really seem effected by stamania or at least not that I can notice

Auto play on...as in my guy takes a mark and takes a few steps by him self coming down from the mark and then I get called to play on automatically without me doing anything

Yeah, no agreed, I've been able to prevent it by not holding R2/RT/Left stick but I cbf remembering to do that everytime I mark

I'm sure some of them have at auto interchanges at least in the likes of season mode or the my character seasons. I'm just too lazy to pause the game and make changes haha

well wonderful just spanked tigers by over 10 goals and the game froze on a black screen after the game finished and it didn't save my progress so have to play that game all over again

I cbf with this anymore at this rate I'll be on my death bed before i can finish a season mode with the constant crashing and freezing
