That's what I'm thinking, maybe something on the cards heading into the weekendHopefully a big patch on its way after a few days of nothing, fingers crossed!
The speed is fine it's just that the AI can wind up max power handballs and kicks as soon as they get the ball imo. Feels like table tennis sometimes.
Yep this. When the AI pretty much ping pongs it around at lightning speed. Stuff the player pretty much can't do.The speed is fine it's just that the AI can wind up max power handballs and kicks as soon as they get the ball imo. Feels like table tennis sometimes.
I've turned commentary off. Huddo is simply just annoying now. NBA 2k nailed commentary as they not only talk about the game and plays but also added is the commentators discussing a players history, previous game, any titles they've previously won etc. gives the commentary more depth and doesn't just become monotonous.Any changes to the ruck contests since the new update? Not too keen on picking up the sticks again and losing 95% of the centre bounce hitouts I contest.
Also the commentary is a bit inaccuate. Examples.
Finished first, 3 losses all season, playing PA in the QF. Garry and the crew constantly going on about how I am an underdog the whole game.
Player running into goal, ball gets smothered, Huddo goes on like they've just kicked a goal.
Player marks the ball 5 metres out on an insanely acute angle. Commentator puts the mockers on saying it's a gimme goal.
The worst one is Harford. Got him, the crowd yelled ball and they got it - or thereabouts. Funny when I'm playing Gold Coast at home and I get pinged. I'm sure the 3 GC fans in the stadium screamed.
Honestly, game speed seems fine to me. It's more so the speed and accuracy that the AI can shoot handballs off. AI manage to handball multiple times in a short period with great accuracy, yet when I try to handball, the handball takes it's time and misses my team mate 90% of the time and then the opposition AI run on to the ball and off they go.Hearing a lot of people say we need to slow the game down, is this a consensus on here?

Nah in NBA you can simulate an entire season within 5-10 minutes, drafting, trading, free agents, then onto the next oneDon't mind your method for bigger AAA titles that have depth. Could not see myself doing that for this game. Would get through 10 years worth of games within a day easily. Can easily spend a week or two managing and simulating a season on games like FIFA, Madden, NBA.
All from playing games, I haven't simmed any of my richmond career and noticed injuries across both seasons so far.
I even went to change Nank out for Soldo to get a taller ruck but couldn't as Soldo was injured!
I have had Riewoldt, Soldo, Graham and Grimes injured all at the same time. Was forced to play Biggy Ngyuon at full back and got monstered by Hawkins ha ha
Finally got a high tackle in game too! View attachment 1712493
Management mode has a lot of work to be done on it for it to be any good and keep me playing through multiple seasons. Injuries are just one aspect that need work along with suspensions, delisting, free agency etc.Have you had in manager career where you play a game and select your team for the following week and players in the reserves list (not on your bench or starting team) are injured. How do they get injuries if they aren’t playing? Also their seasonal average stats are updated as if they were playing?
Does this potentially mean by going to weekly patches you can fit more in them??Daily patches are not sustainable for the long term, as foreshadowed over the past couple of weeks, we will be moving to weekly patches, and it may not be exactly a week, maybe a few days less/more depending on testing.
So what happened 6 days ago when it was said Steam would get patches "most" days and there's been one patch on Steam since?Daily patches are not sustainable for the long term, as foreshadowed over the past couple of weeks, we will be moving to weekly patches, and it may not be exactly a week, maybe a few days less/more depending on testing.
Hear Hear!Switching players - Currently you have to hold L1 + Hold RS in a direction and THEN let go of L1, BEFORE finally releasing the RS direction.
If you don't do this exactly, it won't work. Feels unnatural to me.
Fifa does it well using just the RS to switch players with a simple flick. I'm thinking L1 + flick RS to switch player straight away would work better IMO.
Xbox news today or tomorrow from the post last week or is that still a bit away?Daily patches are not sustainable for the long term, as foreshadowed over the past couple of weeks, we will be moving to weekly patches, and it may not be exactly a week, maybe a few days less/more depending on testing.
I did notice last night I had Jack Riewoldt not in the team 1 game, went to pick him the next game and he was injured.Re the injuries, I play with a pretty regular team unless a a player annoys me then they can start on the bench…

Am I missing something or is that a bug??

I like the current speed.
I actually wish some of the other animations were sped up even more.... like evade/shrug, recover from tackle, go back from a kick after marking etc.
There's times you feel absolute urgency in the match, but the players go about it like a casual training drill....
I think this is a good point, the speed of the game fluctuates in different phases, almost like you're playing some kinda arcade sports game and constantly picking up fast forward or slow mo power ups.I like the current speed.

I’ve been getting away with player switch but also acknowledge it isn’t great, so I put in a feature request a week or so ago in regards to player switching to ba.Hear Hear!
I can sorta see the point of what it is now... but it also doesn't feel right to me. Would like this to be an option.... like 'Radial Player Switching' : 'Radial Flick', 'Radial Hold+Release', any other options.
On this... I wonder if the normal Player Switching (just L1 on it's own) can have different algorithms, that again can be options that the player can choose. i.e 'Defensive Side first' to attempt to change to a player on the defensive side of the ball (within a limited distance), 'Contextual' to maybe try what it does now, 'Aggressive' to always try the closest player to the ball.
Probably something more for AFL24..... but it could allow players to try different options and get a feel for what works best for them.
Could be that the game is simulating reserves playing games in the backend, we just don't see anything about it in the UI (hopefully that is true and eventually we do get visibility). I've noticed I'm getting injuries for my reserves every 2-3 weeks. Still missing Josh Weddle indefinitely on an ACL he did after the grand final tooI did notice last night I had Jack Riewoldt not in the team 1 game, went to pick him the next game and he was injured.
could be training based injuries maybe?
Will never get over the diving goalkeeper style mark they'd take when you're chipping it around or trying to move it to the other end quicklyEvo 2 had this as well. Canned animations that take foooooooooooorever.
