I've since found out that the game that I thought had wind assistance, actually didn't... the option was OFF in the settings... OOPS lol. Turned it on and will see how we go with set shots and goals on the run.

First up - this was pretty cool, heading toward the forward 50, it obviously thought I was going for goal (I was more or less trying to set up a chance to mark it closer to goal). The wind took control of it and pushed it out toward the forward pocket, close to the boundary line. I thought I was no chance to mark it, but I managed to run on and take the grab!




Ehhh on second thoughts, the patch is a step down imo. I'm now seeing teleporting during the jostling for position in the marking contests. Not just the occasional, but EVERY SINGLE MARKING CONTEST I've watched in the game. Frame skips, teleporting etc etc is just an eyesore and shouldn't be happening in the game at all.



I'm seeing a lot more jittery movement overall than previously, it's like some smart arse is pressing pause while the players are trying to run and they're now running with a stutter movement.

Once the bigfooty servers get back to normal I'll post the videos!!

Latest patch has the gameplay as the BEST its been. Handballing is responsive to power direction and handball chains are more fluent. There is less kicking lag and overall faster player responsiveness. Goal kicking is more difficult as well. Stoked with the improvement!

My five pet hates now, involve the stats.
1. Team stats mid game aren’t in a logical order.
2. Ratio of contested marks is too high compared to uncontested.
3. %hitouts to advantage way too high
4. User tackles are unrewarded/incomplete too often.
5. Key stats such as spoils are missing from the season leaderboards

Would be keen for special ‘Brownlow’ and ‘Coleman’ update leaderboards available at the end of each round.

Glad the gameplay is moving in the right direction, hopefully tactics are added soon. Hopefully the mechanics get worked out to point where we don’t see too many unrealistic statistical ratios.

pretty good summary to be honest and a couple of things there i forgot to include in mine earlier!

I'd like to live in a world where this doesn't happen (have the 100 meter handballs been replaced by big booming kicks ? :p). I was intending on bombing it long, but it went sideways!!



I will say that kicking for goal is pretty good, now seems to be dictated by player stats ?
I've stuffed up the occasional shot at goal, but overall I'm still as accurate as I was pre patch(es).

No clue why he was running in mid air ? :p



Also some of the kicking animations have gone a bit troppo ? (talking regular kicks, not shots for goal or goal attempts on the run). Like the player would kick it, but the ball's animation doesn't "teleport" but it kind of veers off it's normal animation path. It's very weird!!

For me the game keeps crashing with West Perth V Claremont

Centre bounce is being worked on as a priority.

Anyone that can't kick a goal needs to account for footedness, attributes, wind, distance from goal.

Timing and powering shits almost perfectly for them to only just make the distance from 40 metres even with key forwards… yeah so far out from goal. Needs a tweak

I for one would like to see being able to score from the center square again, Malcolm Blight mode activated!!

Tbh this is a good call. Moving it to tomorrow means they had today and all day tomorrow to work on it and make sure it's good to go, also could mean it's a tiny bit bigger than say what could've been todays patch, pending what they have in mind. Time will tell I guess

Yeah, it’s the complete radio silence on tactics than has me bemused.

Rest of the communication has been great and is a lot more than any other developer would produce, but when there’s various people asking the same question and hearing crickets, it leaves some questions.
Obviously they are having trouble implementing tactics in a game that is barely stable at the best of times, why people seem to need that spelled out to them by a dev or CEO is beyond me.
 
Set shot is completely cooked. No matter how well timed it is, you potentially spray the ball.

I was watching Michaels stream yesterday and he was spraying a few shots that were timed perfectly and shouldn’t have missed.

Someone in the chat said that during a set shot for some reason instead of defaulting to drop punt he was kicking bananas or check sides. Sure enough when he changed it to drop punt then he was kicking goals again.

Perhaps a slight bug that defaults to the previous kick he used (just prior to this sprayed shot he had kicked one around the body) instead of going back to drop punt.
 
PS5 latest patch and offline.

The gameplay is playing well now, obviously needs some fine tuning, goalkicking is fine and if you are having problems I think you just need to get better. Overall it's fun and now just waiting for the fine tuning of gameplay and management mode to get some balancing, oh and tactics, then I'll start a career as coach.

I think this is just the shot-selection graphic. It doesn’t reset in between shots… but the kick type does default to a drop punt.
