Wtf happened to the game with the latest patch?

  • Set shot is completely cooked. No matter how well timed it is, you potentially spray the ball.
  • Marking contests is horrid as well. If it's 50/50 you're getting outmarked or spoiled.
  • Centre bounce clearances are horrible now too, like how it was a week ago.
  • The game is borderline unplayable again now after this patch. Honestly gameplay wasn't too bad before this patch.
I am unsure why BA felt the need to fix things like marking, set shots and kicking for goal which was fine when they needed to focus on adding in other things like missing features. Jesus christ, it's like 2 weeks of good work has gone backwards in the space of one patch.

It'd happened before like 2 weeks ago the gameplay was heading in the right direction. Then the auto handball bug happened and it went down hill for a few days after that.

I'll play around with the meter tonight to see what constitutes a clean power kick vs a weak kick vs a kick that sprays off the boot.

The game I played this morning my first set shot was a behind. I adjusted (well I thought I adjusted) and kicked accurately from then on. Unless Box Hill City Oval is botched, I'm not sure.

So where is it then? There is no global distribution issues like Ross said either. Funny that this game is the only one affected by this apparent issue. Why the complete silence on it? As I said earlier, I am pretty sure BigAnt haven't even acknowledged the lack of Xbox release. The only info comes from an email from JB/EB.

People complain they were kicking 17 goals straight.

There are a lot more factors now with goal kicking.

I found that the amount of power I used meant I had to hit a higher point in thr sweet spot or lower.

It's just a bit of getting used to.

Miles better than kicking 17 straight though.

Do you know where the sweet spot on the first metre is? I’ve had more luck hitting the red or even letting it get to the end but I feel like it should be blue.

If these posters spent the amount of time trying to get better and improve their skills that they do posting in this thread then the problem would resolve itself.

Ross mentions an NDA in the same post he lies about an xbox distribution issue. You'll forgive me if I don't believe him.

I have definitely under kicked a lot of shots as well ha ha.

I have noticed that cotchin from 40m fell short compared to lynch from 40m with the same power.

So that was cool too.

But no I haven't fully nailed the sweet spot on a consistent basis ha ha

Love this as they clearly don’t have the same range!
Hopefully we can launch with Short or Balta off HB!

3 games today on ps5 (hardest for the first and hard for the 2nd and 3rd)

Bad goal kicking definitely played a part in losing the first one. I personally think for the second part of the set shot meter there needs to be a center line for the player to time their button press to, just like on the run set shots.

Furthermore also noticed the AI especially buddy kicked alot out on the full. The way he hooks his kick after this latest patch means it goes out on the full more times than scoring any points.

Enjoying the on the run goal kicking and definitely missed a few due to bad timing.

Enjoyable patch and hopefully marking contest (player positioning), jostling, bumping is the next focus for big ant.

I’m loving the new kicking for goals mechanic, actually kicking some behinds and getting realistic scores (relative to my 3.5min quarters)

Is there actually any weather in season mode ?, all I’ve played in are clear conditions with no wind - the only game that had wind was played under the roof at Marvel
 
Would also like the ability to save team line ups in season mode. Not sure if this is the same in management mode, but I noticed that it resets every game.
I know you can save your line ups in the academy, however if you’ve already started a season before doing so, you’re stuck with the default line up every game
 
BigAntStudios will we see a list update tomorrow or are lists going to be locked into what they have been since the start of the season? Interested to know whether players drafted tonight would carry on into a new management mode on their state team or AFL team.

I’m certain wind isn’t being applied to current career saves but I have got the changes to goal kicking

Is wind meant to be in every game or is it random?

I questioned this as well, BigAntStudios and JNT BA were looking into it.

I noticed no wind on the ground display in existing saved management games.

But when I started a new management it was there.
