Anyone that can't kick a goal needs to account for footedness, attributes, wind, distance from goal.
After playing a bit more last night, I reckon I’d like more visual feedback on each of these. I think that’s best done with the goal ‘zone’ on the meter.

No doubt there’s still tuning to be done, like the footedness swing seems more powerful than the wind impact (maybe?).

I’ve put in a support ticket suggesting that the impact of these can be shown, both on the meter, and in tutorial videos.

Am I the only one that doesn't completely understand what 'footedness' is?
Generally, left footed kicks drift right, and right footed kicks drift left.

The easiest place to see this in action is in Rugby where they accentuate hitting one side of the ball.... or watch Harry in any given Carlton game this year.
 
Is it reversed for Hawkins? :sweatsmile:
There are some really odd exceptions, a couple of players go right to left and later left to right in the same kick.

We don't emulate any of the exceptions.

Couple of problems I consider not game breaking but pretty infuriating.

-Tackling opposition player for a clear HTB only for the players to get back up, no call and the player who got tackled just plays on and is seemingly invincible — this bug is very prevalent online at the moment and has been the deciding factor in a handful of games for me so far.

-Not so much a game killer but can kill immersion, what’s happening with the scoreboards/LED screens at grounds? I’ve never seen them actually working as they just show a black screen?

It is that any issues are sent to support.bigant.com as they have a lot of tools that they can use to sort things out - particularly crashes as they can grab a save file remotely and fix.

We do know about the HTB and play-on issues in online, they are being worked on.
 
Really enjoying the new goal kicking. Also noticed that the AI is spoiling in the goal square/contested marks a lot more so there are more rushed behinds. Good addition to the game!

are you noticing shot power is reduced after this patch? I had issac smith (good set shot) take a kick from 45m out and it even though im confident that i've powered up adequately and timed it right - a lot of the kicks are dropping short.

I’ve actually found I have more range on the run. Kicking goals outside 50. But set shots in finding a few dropping short. Maybe I’m not timing right. Not sure
 
Day 30 of asking what changes will be made to management mode and when. Just would like to know so I can see some type of hope for the mode that I want to play the most :(

I'd say it's a balance of the player and their attributes, I'm having some can make the distance and some others drop short, but it makes it more a challenge that's for sure ^_^
 
I’ve got a good feeling for todays patch.

With the kicking on the run - is everyone trying to stop the meter as close to the marker as possible?
Just to the left, or right of it.... Mainly depending on where the wind is blowing.
But I feel like the wind had a lesser impact that whether the player was left or right footed...which is probably why I still missed quite a lot.

This is why I'd like more visual feedback on it... so I can improve by knowing what I'm doing wrong.
 
I had a bit of an explore and enjoyed the new hairstyles. So lush. We still need a balding guy I reckon and a proper afro.

The more I create custom SACFL teams, the more I find interesting hairstyles.


Once the academy hits PC I really want to get stuck into more in depth creating, but what I've noticed so far is most of the hairstyles are modern/trendy. Plenty to suit 20 year old city slickers in the 2020s, which I guess makes sense given what is in the game is what's needed for current players.

Complaints about "Added hairstyles" aside, long term I'd like to see more options that suit the 90's guys. Trying to make a vintage centre part Modra for example isn't easy. Need some basic styles to suit the other no frills types like helmet hair for Robert Harvey, the Hulk Hogan do for Gary Ablett Sr, a few bowl cut styles. Maybe a length adjuster for the more modest mullets like Lockett. Pro Team's release and inherent inclusions of older players might help things like that.
 
Probably already been answered but I’m gathering there’s no way I can simply add Matt Coulthard from Glenelg and James Trezise (Richmond VFL) to Richmond’s AFL list to use in management?
 
Played on the latest patch and the overall game has definitely improved and I do like the new set shot system. Goal kicking in general play is a little quirky but I'll give it time.

One complaint I do have is that the manual player select seems to have gone backwards from a couple of patches ago. Often finding it won't switch or will choose someone well away from the ball or path of the ball. Anyone else notice this?
