im finding kicking goals on ps4 super difficult. Im accounting wind, distance, player accuracy and everything possible. I cant kick a goal from 40m out directly in front, im timing exactly how i used to but its missing, badly. Most the time it drops short??

I'd say it's a balance of the player and their attributes, I'm having some can make the distance and some others drop short, but it makes it more a challenge that's for sure, don't worry mate I'm having trouble also, but unlike most I like a challenge :)

Are you playing as Carlton??

After 2 days of the new goal kicking system, I'm really happy with it. Finally getting realistic scorelines of 14.10 or 11.8 rather than 19.2 and the likes. Yes it's hard but it's a bit of getting used to. Great work Ross and team BigAntStudios

Most of my behinds are coming from rushed behinds and the occasional miss. Overall I'm still a sharpshooter in front of goal!!

Had a few behinds get called as "deliberate rushed behind". An annoying big, but I'll gladly take the free kick and goal from them!!

I know it's been said before but I really hope we get to adjust attributes. Just played as a state league team and got absolutely pantsed by port. I like it because it makes player/team attributes and ratings feel like they have an impact. But the lower half afl teams should be rated lower than they are for that reason. Beating Melbourne as Hawthorn should be a lot more difficult than beating Melbourne as Collingwood. At the moment, all AFL teams feel the same.

The highest rated state teams are 76 (GC is 79 but I think that might be an error) with most being 74-75. On that same scale it doesn't make sense to have North Melbourne and Hawthorn rated 88 and 87. They should be low 80's

are you noticing shot power is reduced after this patch? I had issac smith (good set shot) take a kick from 45m out and it even though im confident that i've powered up adequately and timed it right - a lot of the kicks are dropping short.
Yeah I have noticed a bit - but figured that was me. Since the update my set shots are shocking though - anything further than 40m out and they just flop to someone at the top of the goal square (which is what is triggering more spoils/rushed behinds for me)

Once the academy hits PC I really want to get stuck into more in depth creating, but what I've noticed so far is most of the hairstyles are modern/trendy. Plenty to suit 20 year old city slickers in the 2020s, which I guess makes sense given what is in the game is what's needed for current players.

Complaints about "Added hairstyles" aside, long term I'd like to see more options that suit the 90's guys. Trying to make a vintage centre part Modra for example isn't easy. Need some basic styles to suit the other no frills types like helmet hair for Robert Harvey, the Hulk Hogan do for Gary Ablett Sr, a few bowl cut styles. Maybe a length adjuster for the more modest mullets like Lockett. Pro Team's release and inherent inclusions of older players might help things like that.
Damn straight. Some receding hairlines and scruffy hair would be tops.

Agreed, the only time I’ve felt a true difference between teams has been playing say a VFL team against an AFL team.

-Not so much a game killer but can kill immersion, what’s happening with the scoreboards/LED screens at grounds? I’ve never seen them actually working as they just show a black screen?

I've seen them on a few times. But seems kind of random. I have one on my custom ground (my old local footy oval) but would love the option to change it from a video screen to a static country style scoreboard, eg:

HOME G.B
Visitors G.B

Edit: Or just having a static scoreboard as a separate option of course. A good old mini-shed, climb the ladder up into it style.

Sorry if this has been asked before but is there any chance we could get the Saints 150 year jumper they wore in round 3.

I get the collar may not be possible but a pinstripe jumper with the big Saints Logo would be elite.

True for most AFL teams but in my experience Melbourne & Brisbane are way harder to play against than other AFL teams. The decent tap ruck + strong onballers + decent marking CHF combo kinda breaks the game. On Hardest I feel like I'm perennially stuck in some kind of second half of the 2021 GF nightmare against them, but can convincingly beat the other teams.

I'm really enjoying the new kickmeter.

is the Drakes logo custom?

Yep, in my season mode my only loss was to Melbourne and exactly the same way. Centre bounces/ruck being fixed will be a great step forward. Then still need to tackle the difficulty issue, just once I'd love to own an AFL game where my default difficulty isn't 'hardest' and winning every grand final.

I don't care how cheaty it feels just give me a harder difficulty please! I think currently ball movement is too easy for the most part, which is probably because marking is still a little too easy. If more contests ended in a spill instead of a clean mark, or more kicks missed the target marginally when chipping it around the ground, I think the difficulty issue would resolve itself.

Maybe some sort of timing metre needs to be introduced for field kicking? I think FIFA does it fairly well, if you try a long through ball with a centre back who can't pass it will often miss the target or be intercepted, but short easy passes always hit the target. Could implement something like that.

Good point, Gawny and Big O are legit unstoppable in the ruck in this game.

BigAntStudios I am not sure if this been asked or said before. But why can't we integrate seamlessly the affiliated state league teams with the AFL teams in Manegement Mode and Season?

Plus can we please increase or get rid of the player cap of 52 players in creating custom teams. As for someone who trying to sim realistic line-ups as per real matches of State league (WAFL) it seems hard to fit half the new Dockers players on the the Peel Thunder list to use in a custom season mode. Without a lot of adding and deleting etc. When in reality any players beyond the 4 permitted on the bench won't play. So not sure why need the 52 player cap. Cause unfortunately Fremantle Reserves are tied to Peel Thunder and together with the full time Peel Thunder players and Fremantle Players who in real life play for the Thunder the player cap of 52 is well breached by Peel Thunder. So makes it hard to make a realistic roster espically when half the Dockers play for Peel if or not selected for Fremantle. Plus any changes have to start a new custom season. Which is why the player roster cap is really annoying. So if somthing could be implemented that be great so we can like real life move players freely to affiliated state league sides and to the AFL sides as needed without having to go via Academy and restarting a season to use realistic line-ups for each week that be greatly appreciated 🙂

Does that mean though that you shouldn't be able to play as Peel in the WAFL. Surely you can't pick Freo's best players week in and out. This issue exists for all AFL teams in some way shape or form whether it be VFL, SANFL or WAFL.
