Re: Teams

They must be confident Sandilands is either proppy or out. A late withdrawal might see Mackie back in, I reckon.

Either that or Hunt in, especially if we dont have to cover sandilands if he swings up forward.

The gutsy calls, but probably right. I must apologise to the coaching staff, who I have said all year have given Mackie a gold pass and will never be gutsy enough to drop him, I was wrong. Well done MC :thumbsu:

Lonergan is needed with an injured Sandi likely to play a lot forward, and Pods HAD to come back in. While I prefer 2 genuine ruckmen, if Sandi does less than 50 % of the ruckwork Hawkins will only need to ruck against Johnson or Bradley, which he should be able to manage.

While Byrnes and Stokes were both poor last week, Mackie has been poor for longer, and in any case I like keeping quick runners in against Freo.

GO CATS!

mackie is 100 times better than lonergan! very stiff!

Surely Mackie would provide 10 times more drive from half back than what lonners would who plays more of a traditional, stopping like roll in defense. Do Dockers have a number of big key forwards that would warrant his selection in this game over Mackie?

And it's now official that Neil Balme and Bomber made a massive mistake by not guaranteeing Mumford the starting ruck position

This is the second time Blake has been dropped during the finals. Mumford is in the All Australian squad

but wasn't it just as much dollars? But, have to agree - and not just now, but long term

Does this result in a Blake dummy spit which sees him ultimately leave the club?
Bring back the big sausage eater!!

I'd say yes, but we won't know until trade week.

Let's just pick our best side to wn the next 3 finals games, and worry about the rest later.

not the way he played last week ( and a lot of the season)

Interesting to see Mackie dropped. Although he was fairly awful last week, I can't believe they've done it now, but not at all through the season. Jeez he's had some shockers, but I just assumed he was one of the undroppables

Hmm, could be.
I think they may be banking on a late sandi withdrawral then swapping lonners for hunt or mackie.

No, it has to be on record that Mumford said he didn't care about $$$, he just wanted to play at AFL level. Once the Cats said they couldn't guarantee that, Sydney stepped in with a massive cash offer and a guarantee of playing every senior game and the decision was a "no-brainer"
