I understand it is a stab in the dark but why do you see Hawks slipping so far??? Have heard Ellich is shopping himself around but that's nothing new. Would have thought that Hawks would be the side to beat again in 2012

I think there are a number of reasons.

Loss of coach
Loss of culture
Loss of enthusiasm
Loss of players
Possible lack of motivation from the committee

When are Hawks taking over the Buchan St Ground??

These are only thoughts and thoughts only. I'm generally a bit of a Hawks fan and would hate to see them drop their bundle. Can any Hawks supporters enlighten me?

Wow, Flinstone.

I didnt really feel motivated to reply to this post either.

Well TommyGun (formerly known as Plugg3r), what's happening over at Hawk land??? There just doesn't seem to be much motivation coming out of Hawks. Is there the ongoing effects of premiership hangovers??

Booth has left hasn't he?? Hopefully not onto greener pastures as he is closing in on Plugger :D.
Wardle? is he the young CHB? heard that he is considering heading south

No Coach and a change of ground however if they keep the core of their playing group they will be hard to beat again.

Much motivation? Our AGM is this Friday at Hawks Land.

Preperations are no different than last year.

I reckon you had a coach this time last year... Pretty important part of the planning and probably a good reason why you won the flag. Have I missed who is coaching Port?

I reckon Souths will improve, not having a go but they have good finances and will be striving at getting to the pointy end again.

Hearing who is leaving clubs & joining the doggies, could make them a top 2 finisher in season 2012.

Will hold back naming untill Chris says go for it, or his coaching team announces them, out of respect. With the coaching team they have assembled they will have a good brain trust, Now that Miller is gone things will improve. :p

From my listening to the ground at last report to my hearing aid , Port are suppose to be bring up a coach from the South, not sure if that is still on.

Yes Souths have a little bit of coin, but in saying this do not expect the purse strings to be lossened, the club is tired of paying for under-achievers, & swelled headed players who command top $$$'s all year but play in finals as a dud players,
hence our local juniors getting some great exposure to the game also with the new coach wanting to work them into his squad with
the 4 bus loads of wannabes , who should be arriving before Xmas :p

Are you saying boys from Souths are heading to the doggies Tamba? I would have never thought that to be the case. Shezza - can you enlighten us? I hate waiting until the transfer window opens.

Surely improvement must come from Lions? Jason Roe has the best credentials in the league by a country mile, that would be a big loss for Norths. Great work by the new president to recruit both him and Ray. I hope they get some support and make a real go of it in 2012. They have a great set up out there.

Putting the pressure on these blokes early. Do you hope they read this? How big are the buses Tamba? Would C. Campbell be returning with another Canberra lad? Who are the losses to date apart from Adams?

I believe Paul was officially signed in January this year. AGM is this Friday though, probably hear more then.

I may be mistaken, but wasn't he signed at the start of 2010 of 2 years? What will you be putting your hand up for at the AGM Plugg3r? I guess you will be there, so can you please tell us what is happening with Manunda's tenure at Cazalys afterwards?

I'll be sure to fill in all the lovely people on here on all the news :thumbsu:

Recently found out who teamwork is Plugg3r! Have some interesting private messages from him. Heard Elhich could be on the move again... maybe to Centrals this time??

Dixon got a job through the Saints connections and then rang a club official to say he was playing with Norths! Job was quickly withdrawn. Could be interesting to see where he ends up.

My predictions are that it will be closer next year than in previous years.
Maybe Port to drop to the bottom. The Darwin connection will be the difference between good and ugly.
Centrals to finish top 2 and forfeit games in the reserves.
Lions to squeeze into the top 4.
Saints to have the highest hot water bill (no more plumbers) and sell the most pies.
Souths to allow smoking at the bar and Tamba to drink with Flinstone during the game.
Norths to play the big netball bird in the ruck.
Plugg3r to change his name to Prince and play a seniors game at Hawks after watching Rudy (great movie).
Shavedham to tell us who he is, where he lives and works.

Surely there's one or two plumbers left, Grimey?

I'd heard of the non-cohesion of the Centrals reserves and seniors, but to the extent that it was put in the paper, it must be a pretty large gap. Something that shouldn't be too hard to bridge though.

Port will have the money and find some players to be up in the top 4. Don't forget their seconds were undefeated until Grand Final day, so they've got enough depth to be competitive even without big name recruits. Was time for a change up there anyway.

I reckon Hawks would know who their coach is, but just waiting for the AGM to either announce or make a final decision. If it was after Christmas, that's when you start getting into trouble.

Well it's official in the fish wrapper, Centrals have made their long awaited announcement. I'll be interested to see how they go.

Gave up smoking cigarettes in April this year. However I've been getting into cigars lately when having the occasional ale.

Oh wont you like to know how big they are???

Cam's busy, wont be back for awhile, he's still GM down Belconnen Magpies, took over from Ray Hocking who is now the Lions Manager out Holloways way & ex Cairns umpire manager.
Gee Ray is getting around. :D

Listen to the "Nay Sayers", already they have clubs done and dusted. Lets wait and see where everyone is at at the end of the first group of home and away fixtures of the season, before making unsubstantiated or disparaging remarks.

Listen to Flintstone, already complaining about legitimate opinions on this forum. Let's wait and see which bottom dwelling position Souths occupy at the end of the first group of home and away fixtures of the season, before making substantiated or reasonable remarks.

Flinstone, seriously, could you please take off those "everyone is against Souths" goggles and start actually reading comments? At no point did Lachrilly make unreasonable comments in his post. If anyone could be upset it would be Cities, but even then they must admit that what he said was fair considering the season they had.

I do think Souths will progress this year, but I do not see them making the finals. This is not because I hate Souths, I just think that they are behind the majority of teams. Hawks, Saints, Centrals and Norths sound like they are recruiting well, and Souths are already behind these teams in terms of player personnel. It would also be a brave man to discount Port at this stage. I don't think a new coach will make much difference, and the young players you speak of will probably need another season under their belts. Remember, this is opinion.

If you would like to refute these points in a non biased manner, please feel free to do so. Just remember that most people on this forum are not "nay sayers", they are realists. We all heard the hype before this season, and look how that turned out. And before you get all upset, I was only joking in my opening paragraph. I said "listen to Flintstone". We all know that noone on this forum actually does this.
