There were some lopsided scores in the Reserves this week. Hawks obviously took advantage of Norths missing some players. Centrals are obviously rebuilding. Lions must have played well to nearly take the game from Port.

Interesting results, Centrals only down by 20 at half time, cities leading at half and 3 qtr time and apart from mueller and liddy, who else was missing from norths cos they never looked liked winning? Is liddy even playing anymore?

Tamba couldn't see the spark, but it turned out to be one of the most intriguing round of the year.

Hawks all over Norths at Cazalys. It's hard to use injuries as an excuse when it's 26 scoring shots to 5 at 3 quarter time. Hawks new imports must have been in form. I thought Hawks previous performances weren't reflective of the quality of their list. It must have all but cemented Hawks' spot in the finals. After last year's GF, teams wouldn't want to be meeting them at the business end of the year if they can keep that type of form up.

Centrals won the 2nd quarter and were right in the match at half time. A bit too much Walsh focus without Macqueen and Harkin at his feet and Centrals used the ball and ran really well from defence into attack. A solid third quarter put the result beyond doubt, but it was a tough contest, Centrals seem to be heading in the right direction with some good young players.

Port v Lions would have been a cracker. The poor lions just managed to avoid victory by kicking 9 behinds in the last quarter. When will the Lions crack a victory in the seniors??

Walsh ticked over to 81 and Gill to 60 goals for the year. It's a matter of time for Walsh, but Gill will need to string a few games like Friday together to get the ton with only 7 games to go. Wilkie for Port is on 69 in the reserves. He looks like he could get there too.

What seemed to have been an unsurprising weekend turned into a cracker, I wonder if the same will happen this week? I doubt it.

Centrals v Hawks could be match of the round, but I doubt it will be a close finish. Centrals played well for a half against the Saints, but the Hawks have had the big recruits finally show up and will be a formidable force by season's end. I think they'll take this one by 10+ goals.

Souths v Saints will be much a replay of their first encounter, although Souths usually make a better showing at home. Tipping the Saints by 15 goals.

Norths v Lions. Was Norths last game an aberration or are they that much out of form? I think they'll be out to make a point this week and beat the lions comfortably.

Perhaps Centrals v Hawks reserves will be a close game, I doubt the other two will.

But most of us probably tipped wrong last week, so this week could see another upset?

Hi Tamby (smile face). Say hi to Flogstone for me (even bigger smile face).

He hardly comes down to the club now his has cut back the on grog, so our bar sales are in the negative for these last 2 months, I'm trying to make up for it but only soooooooo muuuuuch I can do o_O LOL

Hawks, they should be swabbed hot then cold, listening Dick ????? you are one cagy Pres, no wonder I can't tip right

Saints, being realistic about this game

Norths why didn't you play crap against us the week before or did we hurt you Brett ????????

Good luck with that.;)

Tips for this week -

Saints will be a tad too hard for the Cutters
Hawks to beat Centrals
Norths to get over the Lions but I think the Lions will give a good account of themselves.

;)

Hope today fish & chip wrapper explains it for those who were wondering ( I was asked to wait before I commented)

Tough decision Tamba, but obviously the best for the club. Well done Souths.

Hard to ignore the stats written in the article... 290 goals kicked by Saints!!! There's still 7 rounds til end of season. And only conceded 85 goals.

This is best amateur team ever assembled in Australia.

Interesting article. Thanks to the AFL, i'm a perrenial cynic and always think there's more to the story. (Richmond, please!).

Sets a good example at Souths, particularly if they make finals with that kind of attitude.

Yes we got pants-ed in both grades, ;)

Ok, but look at the bigger picture,

Lockie held their main goal kicker ( Walsh) to 4 sausages & a Few points) he acknowledged my ribbing on his stretching once or twice

Gill was held to 5, and Souths out kicked them in the last qrt we got 5 after being 1 point all but.

Hey, still the men in orange need to see 2 teams, I had one umpire chatting to me during la game & he was shaking his head on some of the calls,

Over all top game from 12 missing from our side saw some great moves of players moving up,
No. 52 for us BJ is old d but still something to show

They can be beaten, they sleep in 1 or two areas ,will be a challenged side, anything can and will happen by seasons end.

Wait till I sing

By the way Congrats to Mel, I hear you are on Maternity leave soon, hope you enjoy the peace & quite whilst it lasts :D
