Good win to Norths ressies plllllllllllllllllllease. Were outplayed for 4 qrts but for a Saints brainfade have made a grand final. Don't get me wrong you take advantage of these things if you can but to say it was a good win or that they deserve it like their coach said on the ground is just wrong. Will take alot for the Saints 2's to back up after last nights disapointment and probably see Port as favourites next week. Saints were great and gave Norths no chance in the seniors. To see Richter and Mueller ( who had 10 kicked on him) in Norths best is a joke. Hawks were very good against an up against it Souths. Chuchill up forward was very dangerous and will be a handfull next week. Can't see Norths coming back from a loss like that and think Hawks will get home easily.

A win is a win, doesn't matter how it's done does it??

I would have to agree with you Grimey. As much as I dislike Saints I don't think putting shit on Walsh is warranted. I also fail to see how the guy is a 'Seagull'. Can someone please explain??

He's a full forward, who by nature are all seagulls. They rely on others getting the ball to them, classic seagull. I've for no problem with that as that's a full forwards role.

It's not anywhere near as bad as a midfielder being labelled a seagull, which suggests they are scared of the hard ball. I don't think Walsh is a hard ball player, tends to stand back if it gets tough and wait for a loose ball or a chase. But in front on the lead with that midfield...there is where he is at his best.

Saints and Hawks the winners today. No real headline news from either game with both games tame and no serious injuries in either that i can remember.
Saints v Norths in the ressies
Saints v Hawks in the seniors.

Should be 2 cracking games.

Was disappointed with Norths today. Thought they waved the white flag when they should have lifted. Good players missing when it counted. Ehlich was a good get for them. Three games was it? After Norths convincingly best Hawks earlier at Watsons he was heard saying, and plastered it over his page that he'd definitely made the right decision (to leave Hawks).
Karma hears all!

Not sure what you were watching but I don't think we stopped trying until the final siren, game was still well in the balance until mid/late last term. 3rd quarter cost us. Pleasing thing for the Tigers future is that when we did get back into it, it was our 16-17 year olds who got us going. Disappointing to lose today obviously but we have a great young coach who leads his team well and the future is bright.
Now we just need to work on a big turnaround for the magoos to upset the Saints double.

Agree completely. Dont know his name but the tall young blonde fella played a great defensive role, a real standout in my eyes. Lots of young kids in that side and thats a good thing.

Low point of the game had to be when #17 for Manunda took a mark in front of goal, dove down holding his leg, the trainers come out to get him off, he limps halfway off and lets someone else take his kick and then runs the rest of the way off pumping his fist when the guy kicked the goal. Surely this is against the rules.

The tigers supporters were right into him but I honestly cant believe this went overlooked. I can just imagine what was said in the changerooms: "right, if you arent backing yourself at the shot, just put on an italian accent and fall down holding your leg, we'll get you off so someone who is more confident at goal can take the shot." Absolute cheating and Manunda FC should be embarrassed if thats the way they go about their footy.

Haha had to post nice try mate. #17 is a proven goal kicker so he would jump at the chance to kick a goal. Players cramp sometimes. Even if he was 'putting it on' he'd be far from the first player to do this as its a common thing players do. Don't know how many times I've seen a player go down with 'cramp' and Kane Ubergang take the kick. It happened last year in a game where Dixon for Saints did same thing. To be called cheat is a very very long bow & as bad a comment as you could make on here.

Watson's maybe it seemed different on the ground to you Norths guys. But it was you that got the jump and hawks that pegged you back then ran away. During the third quarter your senior players seemed to lay down. Your kids were always going to be enthusiastic but it looked as though in the third and then half way thru the last, you gave up.

If Port & Centrals hadn't fallen away, then I still think Norths would have finished same as last year. Given this, if the league improves again next year to somewhere where it was last year, then Norths will need to improve fourth or fifth, rather than second.

If the league remains as is, or continues to slide and If they can recruit three or four good players, they may just push for a finals win, and from there, who knows!

Maybe if someone is unable to take a kick it should be the same as a stretcher rule. Off for 20mins or whatever it is. Norths kids were good but to say the side laid down or gave up is a bit harsh. They showed alot in the last quarter trying to get back into it but were too far back and run out of legs.

Ok lets go over this post. For a start, you obviously think I played yesterday but I was in the stand supporting my team like I have done for years.
We got the jump because we were kicking with a 6 goal breeze and you duly fought back in the 2nd with the aid of said wind advantage. We blew it in the 3rd when you had some of your best passages and we lost some discipline. Most of the last quarter was a dogfight and a 'poster' from us was the only thing that kept us from tying the scores and thenwho knows ??
As for the last 2 paragraphs, I've read it a few times and still not sure what the fook you're on about, other than you're trying to have a go at us and saying that we haven't improved.
How about a poll: who would you rather be? option a) the team that plays and trains on the finals venue, who rely on mid season, cash chasing recruits to see it to another GF loss.
OR b) the team that has been steadily building over the last 3 years, with their own venue and crop of young stars who just had their first taste of finals action and a great young coach who is determined to see it through.
You were too good yesterday, but thats what I like about you Hawhs supporters, you're as graceful in victory as you are sour in defeat.

He's just mad Watsons!

Well done on a great year at norths. The club has really turned it around.

It's great to have you back president Richard!

Again Quagmire of crap...you are wrong! But feel free to complain and report if we hurt your feelings!!

Watson's...I'm sorry but Norths have not improved. If Port & Centrals were as string as last season, your would not have made the four. At very best, you maybe may have scraped in for fourth at cost of Centrals but I still doubt it.

We all know the wind every September at Cazalys is a factor and both teams need to play it. Again, in MY opinion, Norths players appeared to conced defeat too early on two occasions.

As for the choice of the two, I'd choose the team that is reigning premier every time. As for your building to something, next year will tell us if that is true. However this year is a fair indication that you haven't. Out in straight sets to the only two team that haven't dropped off considerably is the proof.

Saints have printed off their 2012 Premierships shirts, caps, socks & jocks and have ordered in Johnny Farnham as entertainment at their victory party which is rumored to be hosted by Jason Eagle (for free of course as Saints didnt pay him) who will wheel out Max O'Halloran to make a special presentation to their major sponsor....Gina Reinhart (thunderous applause)

People are forgetting North's had Davies, Liddy and Dixon .. also Ellich miss or leave during the season and still made the Prelim. Great effort by a club heading in the right direction...
Their reserve team is also in the GF so as a club they have come a long way since last year...

As for Manunda credit has to go to them on Saturday for getting the win. The turning point IMO was the free kick that was reversed in the 3rd Q and then the 50m that followed ended up being a 2 goal turn around. ... Would be a much bigger upset than last year if they were to get up this year though as I can't see anyone stopping Gill on the big Cazaly's ground.

How many games did Dixon play? How many games did Ehlich play? Liddy left and how many players in every club leave? As for the poke at last year being an upset Dr., well I'll let that one thru to the keeper.

No way would Norths have beaten Port Douglas last year! No way!! Port were a very very good team the previous couple of years.

Norths reserves have been strong for a few years, so nothing knew there this year.

The ONLY greatly improved teams this year have been Saints & Lions.

So your saying that Norths and Souths only made the finals because Port and Centrals dropped off. Pretty sure North Melbourne and Fremantle only made the finals because Essendon and Carlton dropped off. Any time you improve your ladder position from the year before is an improvement in my view. Norths and Souths have clearly improved while Cities ladder finish doesn't give them the credit they deserve.

Very big call with very little merit in the loggic

Norths & Souths have vastly improved on last season

Plenty of logic attached if you READ my post. Souths got rid of some baggage early in the year which left them short of quality, but it was absolutely the right call. However, I think they were no better than last year, if so it was negligible. There is no way that Souths would have been able to beat Port's team of last year 2 or 3 times to leap over them on the ladder. And as with Norths, they may have been able to over come Centrals at home but would have been a toss up away. So I'll say it again, in MY opinion, if Port hadn't have dropped off they would have been above both Norths & Souths and the may be a slim chance that Norths could sneak in at the expense of Centrals, however I wouldn't think so.

All I am saying is that the league has dropped off markedly this season.

Sounds like a great night. Cutters have booked Marcia Hines and Keith Urban for presentation night. I'm also led to believe that the two chefs from My Kitchen Rules have been called in to do the catering.

Kiss of death -

I am a realist and think that the Saints juggernaut will be too strong in both Seniors and Resssie's. However, best of luck to both the Hawks and Norths teams.
