Really how could Richter or Reynolds be in Norths best. Richter might have had 10 touches max for the day and was clearly beaten and Reynolds did nothing but give away down the field free kicks. Yes Norths had a very bad day but there were better players than them. And what was with young Rokeby playing 2's. Kicks a bag a few weeks ago in the ones now playing 2's.

Awesome day at Holloways Beach yesterday, 2's started with 94 point win & then seniors by 79, could easily have been 100. makes a difference when everyone is available.

Daniel Lewis, comfortably the best player in the comp, was outstanding with 13 goals, Adams was also very good in his first game. Centrals brave but looked horribly under strength. We may have another win in us this year if we play that well.

Rokeby was away with family commitments, mistaken identity.

Yeah Saints far too good, but I wouldn't say the wheels have fallen off. We get a few back over the next fortnight so hopefully we can improve on yesterday. We have been playing 5 or 6 u18s every week and they are all going to be much better for the experience of playing against some very good Saints players. We are going to play finals for the first time in 8 years so cannot be disappointed with that.

Yeah that's true Watson's. I think after the start you guys had its easy to forget that finishing third will still be a good win for the club. Maybe we got carried away with what we saw early on before teams we at full strength. Still, you have got players missing from start of year haven't you? where they go?

Saints people, where has Carter gone? Was all we were talking about a few weeks back true? He quit or been asked to leave?

We knew all about the Carter situation when he came across to Saints. He had done no wrong to us, we didn't and haven't done any extra for him. He has to do what the club expects of him. There are some expectations in place for everyone at the club and if he does them, I am sure he will be back playing soon.

Finally the lions get on the board with a double victory. Hopefully there's more to come. The scoreline suggests they'll certainly be a chance in other games this year.

Walsh kicked 6 to move to 91 and could bring up the ton in Port Douglas this weekend. Gill's had a couple of weeks off, so his ton looks unlikely, but is still a chance, particularly with finals still to play.

Reserves was a great game Saints v Norths. Will be a very interesting finals series in the reserves. Port's seniors won't make it now, so will they be qualifying guys for the reserves and have a good crack from 4th? Norths v Saints looks like they'll be close too.

And that's all you can do Geegrimey, which is what Hawks did. Although Hawks went out of their way to help over and above the norm a few times. I think that's why the club is so disappointed he left the way he did, because of the time and extra attention put into him. In the end he just couldn't get over not being good enough to make our senior team come finals time.

I think as its his third club he may not be as vocal as he was at his last two, possibly realising that maybe it's nobody else's fault but his own.

I hope you're right and he does come back playing. This could be the catalyst for him to change and grow. let's hope so.

Will Walsh kick the 9 goals needed to crack the ton this week??!

Yes, he'll kick 9 - $3.20
He'll fall short 5 to 8 goals - $3.40
He'll be well held - 1 to 4 goals - $6
He'll smash em! 10 to 15 goals - $2.90
It'll be a record breaker! 15+ goals - $7

We actually haven't lost that many. Rex Liddy of course is a major out, if we could have him and young Rokeby up forward together it would be great. I think you are right in that we were fit and flying at the start of the season while other teams were still warming up. We have at least 5 to come in and most definitely have not given up on second spot. That said, it would take something extraordinary to beat Saints. The scary thing is the way they spread so well, I think they will be even better on the big Cazalys ground.

This week,

Hawks v Souths at Cazaly's, Hawks have come together as we all knew they would and should be too strong for Souths.

Port v Saints.
Saints coming off a good win should handle port up there, the main point of interest being who will kick the goals and how many for the Saints. Wouldn't be surprised if Port are in it up to half time, depending on injuries. Reserves game should be a cracker.

Norths v Centrals.
Norths will be looking to get back on the winners list after a bad couple of weeks. Centrals coming off a loss to Lions, can't see them being in the finish, but again, wouldnt be surprised to see them in it for half the game with some talented young guys at both teams.

So you are not rating South Cairns Reserves ????

They might not be as good as your side but they beat PD by 44 points last week

or are sugesting the Crocs will do a Centrals from a few years ago in the reserves and "Stack" or are you going to Tank for them ????

I don't think there are enough games left to qualify them
don't they need six if they have already played in the seniors

I think they have little choice but to drop guys back. They've probably got lots of guys in the seniors on the cusp of disqualifying themselves from reserves finals (who were playing reserves early in the year before all the injuries. If they don't drop guys back, they might struggle to field a reserves team come finals time.

Port are always better at home and Souths are always better at home too. I'd say it could be about a 4 goal difference for each side home vs away. Souths v Saints at Souths was a good reserves game, wasn't it? I predicted it would, the same as I have this week.

Plus, If I think this week will be close, then I must rate Souths pretty highly if they beat Port. I don't know how you read into my post that I'd discounted them?!

Daniel Lewis is NOT the best player in the competition!!! Anyone could have kicked 13 goals against the present Centrals list! Imagine how many Walsh and Gill will kick against Centrals next time they clash! Walsh may kick 150 for the season ;)

Yes, well done to the Lions, I was happy to see them get up.

Yeah good win at Souths. Dont know if I would say you've cemented fourth yet though Flintstone.
Gee port have some injuries! That team was an out and out reserves team at Fretwell yesterday.. Cooper has done well over the past few weeks to get wins on the board but it just all became too much for them yesterday.

Lewis kicked 13 and is some kind of a player! Would love to see him in a good team delivering quality footy to him. Hopefully he sticks around for Lions for a couple of years.

It's official, the wheels have fallen off out at Norths. What's happened out at Watson's? Anyone? They've gone backwards in a hurry and are a shell of the team that had us all believing early that they would be the best chance to take it to Saints.

Saints are back after a depleted team dropped their only game last week and are still 10-1 on for the title. Macqueen's a very good player that gets under the radar.
Well Dontargue most pundits on here had written souths off at the start of the season and I think the cutters can now rightfully claim that they are serious finals contenders.
My kiss of death for this week

Hawks in a tight one over Cutters
Saints to smash Port
Norths to flog Centrals

Don't know that Souths will be any kind of a contender in the finals Flintstone. In fact who ever gets 4th spot is 10/1 on to go out in first final. Top three out in front a fair way with Saints a fair way above the other two.

And if it's a tight one between Souths and Hawks this week, make sure you wear a helmet home because there will be pigs flying around everywhere!

I seem to remember a team that finished 4th at the end of the home and away season a short season or two ago actually got up & won the GF,

Not implying anything,

so really those odds of 1 / 10 anyone taking them would have made a killing.

Kiss of Life

Souths in a Ball Terror

Saints - if the crowd doesn't upset them

Norths - will get a scare in the 1st 2 qtrs. but them run away with it

Souths to beat Hawks?? Surely not... And are Souths tanking for the Twos flag?? I see Mackrill getting in the best most weeks in the 2s yet not in the 1's?

Hawks by 100
Saints by 150
Nths by 40

Surely you jest Dr.

Best Rib Tickler I've heard in awhile :D

Fish has only come back from injury, so not fully fit for senior play yet.
