Hey Southcab,

That Div 1 player playing in Div 4 scenario is dealt with by the "must have played 4 games in a division" rule but this I beleeve is for players going down grades, not up, which is why I'm sure a Div 4 player can play in a Div 3 final without having played 4 Div 3 games. Now I'm really confused .

12.1 73 to 9.12.66 was the final score in that G.F from memory - was a pretty incredible game and Goulburn kicked them from everywhere. Horse and Puddles kicked 8 of Belco's 9 between them.

Pie 25 i believe the rule in which you mention underwent some fine tuning in feb of this year i am no expert but the way i now interept the rule 7.2.2 you still have to had played 4 games for that division .The rule and again this is my interprataion dose not apply if a div 3 player goes into the preimer leauge meaning div 2 or infact div 1 .Under your interpratation what stops div 1 players who may have been injured early in the season and take now further part in div 1 yet may have played 1 game for div 4 does this not allow him to play finals with div 3 or have i got it so completely wrong (which wouldnt suprise me at all ) and just for the record there is no way the swans could ever kick 13/1/ 79 ever again correct if im wrong the 1 point came late in the last quater belco had just as many shots but didnt convert.You will beat swans by a big margain cheers

I'm pretty sure that to qualify for a Div 3 final the only requirement is that a player has to have played at least 4 games in Div 3 OR Div 4. So a player can play every H&A game in Div 4 and still play in the Div 3 finals. The restrictions apply to Div 4 - players who have played 9 games or more in a higher Div can't play Div 4 in finals, unless the club's Div 3 side is playing on the same weekend.

i think your spot on with the div 4 presumptions..
im not sure that goulburn can match the maggies this year with both side at full strength.. i think belco may have them by about 2 goals if both side played to the strength,

i also feel yass can easily put the jets away as this week i have the feeling yass can field the strongest side they have had all year. i dont think the injured jets can match the mighty ROOS

Soiler, It didn't end up costing any money to ask the question and the majority of CD clubs supported the Protest, so it was worth getting it clarified for future.

The disappointing thing was even though BFC rep did the right thing asking the office beforehand, the office got the interpretation wrong and bluffed their way out of it in the critical week after the match. AFLC acknowledged they had not considered sufficiently the implications of the Belco Div 4 qualifications when allowing the extra Div 2 side and should have communicated with CD Clubs more when the decision was taken. The reason given for not considering the protest was that Belco supported the League by entering 2 sides in Reserves grade and deserved some special consideration. This was not covered by the existing By Laws at all. By the time the process had been reviewed by AFL NSW/ACT the GF had been played and there was little point taking further action other than to challenge for a review of the By Laws.

The circumstances exposed a serious flaw in the system and lead to a review of the By Laws (although this still appears to be incomplete).

Morning all with two days of tipping left here is the latest update from the panel

DIV 3 saturday Belco have hit the lead with 7 with the jets only securing 1 vote to go to4 (no votes from ports 18 or beans yet !!!)


DIV 3 sunday juggs still hold a slight advantage with 6 votes to adfas 5 (bighill and booftastic still to vote)

DIV 3 saturday yass have taken the lead 6 votes to 4 (piggy u cant vote twice) over the jets 4.

DIV 4 sunday belco red hot favorites over (no body wants the swannies except snipley) with 5 votes to 1 this can only get worse for the swans when pie 25 and beans and co vote.
