Have a look at mids his height in afl. Wing he’ll need to be 87-88kg. Midfield will be 92-93kg
He’s 186-187, he’s not 191-195. 87-88kg is a good weight. It’s not about players who are at his height it’s the style they play. Wines is the exact same height but he’s a totally different style of player and was a man child coming into the league. Josh Kelly is a similar style of player, a couple of cm small and he plays at 83kg.

With the draft order now settled ahead of draft night, the draft tipping comp is up!

Predict the first round and win prizes - winner gets 2 years premium platinum and a badge, while the runner up also gets premium platinum for a year (platinum = no ads!)

Interesting that the poll is essentially 50% Phillipou 50% everyone else.

Tall, rangy, strong runner, late year birthday, capable overhead and a capable goalkicker. He's not an absolute carbon copy but I hope everyone is at least aware of the possibility that he becomes another Kyle Langford.

And I rate Langford very highly.
Phillipou said he’s the best player in the draft. Kyle only said he’s Nat Fyfe.

Cerra 187-86
Sidebottom 184-84
Ward 187-83
Guthrie 187-87
Duncan 188-88
Hopper 188-89
Given he is 186cm I think Tsatas will be fine if he puts on about 6 kg. Not that he is a player that uses bulk or physicality anyway.

Reckon there is a high flight risk with Phillipou. Hence the 3 interviews etc. also some of the media work him and his dad did almost sounded like a campaign to get an Adelaide team to get higher in the draft. fingers crossed.

Cam Mckenzie is that low risk selection this year. The best all round midfielder outside of Ashcroft.
Almost a walk up canter to become another Boak, Selwood, Cotchin, Sloan, Guthrie type A grader.

I disagree. Reckon he’s vanilla with no great strengths.

Will be a handy player at best, never close to AA.

We shall see! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder….

I don’t think Tsatas is the safe pick everyone believes he is. Still needs to add 10-15kg to his frame and has had a foot fracture which would put him at risk of doing this injury again once extra muscle is put on. Would he be covering the ground like he is now with that extra weight? He may, however Phillipou ran a faster 20m and better 2km and weighs 10kg more.

Happy to be corrected but I was under the impression Tsatas got stomped on, it wasn’t any kind of stress injury.

I would prefer just taking best available at 4 instead of reaching for a bigger mid and going against our draft board.
If Tsatas is the best available then just do it, then target Szybkowski with pick 22 (24), who is the exact Jack Graham type we normally whiff on but would be a great pick up.

Caldwell, Hobbs, Tsatas, Szybkowski and Perkins is a great mix of class and power for a future midfield for example.

i'm not entirely a fan of best available.
if its clear cut (i.e. Hobbs last year), then ok. But if it's Tsatas being consistently better but not light years then you need to look at fit/need as well.

i.e if Humphrey isn't that far behind Tsatas, but is a better list balance pick - take him.

People's obsession with the big bodied mid has gone too far.
Give me Tsatas over Phillipou every day.
Proven production over potential, considering we cannot develop a big mid to save ourselves.

‘coz essington!?’🤣.

I’ve seen a few comments about our weak development, but outside of Dodoro there is little similarities in our coaching and development setting to any of the days of yore. If anything I am quite bullish about the future of our development.

It’s a clean slate (unless Dodoro is picking the undevelopable)

More likely that they had to cut the interview off each time because he started telling stories.

The first time about how he had a problem with his boots, they weren't stitched properly and he had to keep going back to the shop to get them replaced. 3.5 hours later our recruiters really needed toilet breaks.

Second time I believe had something to do with North Macedonia and took 2.5 hours when Mahoney had to go and present his report to the board. I believe this is what got Sheedy off side. He didn't understand what the geopolitics of the Mediterranean and Balkans had to do with the performance of the team.

He's a sleeper talent. It's not flashy but he retains possession from contest/stoppage as well as anyone in the draft. Which was Sam Mitchell's best quality and what made him a star.

Sam Mitchell was/is and always will be a HACK!

I dont mind mckenzie as a slide back pick (5 for saints f1 and 9 for example).
Runs very hard both ways, good contest/stoppage work, has some height too. Would assume phillipou and humphrey are gone by then. Clark too.

Probably a bit of a reach at 5, and there are options for that type at 5 with more tricks (humphrey/phillipou/ginbey)

Fair enough.

I didn’t see anything like Mitchell level talent watching him at champs but again.....it’s all in the eye of the beholder.
