If North land 2, im predicting they don't do anything stupid and take Cadman and Sheezel. Might even bypass an Ashcroft bid.

1-Cadman (north)
2-Sheezel (north)
3-Ashcroft (bris)
4-Wardlaw (GWS)

I grab Clarke at 5. Clarke + Hobbs to lead the next midfield.
Perkins, Martin, Caldwell, Durham for a bit of size

Tank the **** out of next year
Pick 1 - Reid
If Parish goes, pick 2 would be nice too :)
I don't think we will need to tank - I can't see us winning more than 4/5 games next year

Heard Rendell on trade radio saying Geelong into Bowes is all about pick 7 and specifically all about Jyhe Clarke. They see him as as Selwood clone on and off-field.

ant555 spruiking him got me interested. The fact Geelong want him badly really has my attention.
We should just bug the Cats recruitment offices - maybe Brad Scott could go undercover - and then just pick anyone the Cats thinks is good.

suspect all 3 are gone before our pick.
So it's Tsatas v Clarke v Humphrey for me.
If we don't draft the last of Sheezel, Wardlaw, Tsatas and Cadman we're dumb. There's a clear cut top 5 according to 99% of the watchers. Just take whoever's left

I tend to agree if we’re not willing to take whoever’s left over and the best available at pick 5, we may as well trade back to the next tier and try advance our draft hand next year. There will be suitors who’ll be keen to snag whoever falls to us.

Knightmare (the dominant poster on the D&T board) had Phillipou at 1. That trumps everyone else’s view surely?

Phillipou is the big smoky for mine. Dodoro has given hints of needing to get in a big mid, and with him being one of the youngest in this draft crop, he potentially has the most upside of anyone in the draft. Will just be whether he goes the more proven player who falls to us or goes for the upside that say a Phillipou offers. Would think if he goes down the upside path we would surely attempt to trade back a few spots and gain either points to cover Davey bid or maybe something for next year.

I was being very sarcastic 😉

There’s been a bit of smoke around Phillipous level of professionalism. Probably not one I’d be taking the risk on too high up the order.

We should pick him for spite.

So much garbage happening at the club... board, Clarkson, Rutten, Scott, Thorburn etc

The thing I'm most disappointed about and struggling to let go is Bowes nominating Geelong.

Getting a best 22 player and a top ten draft pick for free would have really put fuel on the rebuild. But we are too much of a pile of burning dog crap.

Sure we all hope for improvement but an impartial observer you would have to say so far that EFC doesn't deserve to perform any better in the coming years.

I actually think that if Truck were not sacked and the board not rolled, he may have considered more seriously coming to us. Although we finished the season weakly, we did have those wins going for us and we did play finals the year before. We would have appeared stable, just with work to do on the track. The $$$ may then have been a more significant influence.

Everything since Truck was sacked has had us looking like a fresh turd. It's the same conclusion as far as I'm concerned; sacked 3 months too late and 8 months too early.
