Is there a tom green?
Cos I want a tom green
it came to me in a dream but i think there’s a lot of similarities between how green & merrett play football. they’re both clearly very intelligent ball users, and while their disposal off the boot mightn’t be what most would consider normal he hits targets easily & he takes those difficult 1% kicks that most players wouldn’t dare do because it might cost a goal & he’ll make it look easy.

not to discredit either player but they’re both absolutely elite both with ball use & with game impact

Steph Curry effect.

It’s not a bad shot/kick if you can reliably make it at a high enough percentage.

Anyone have any Intel on Charlie Edwards? Cal Twomey seems to think he could rocket up the draft order? 190cm mid.
Geez Charlie Edwards surely has to be a bolter, only highlights but he looks, big, explosive, good over head, oenetrating kick, midfield and kick goals

Was in the best again today

Hes one of those high risk/reward guys but he has some serious weapons

I havnt seen a guy that size explode with that speed/power away from congestion and then have his kicking penetration all that often

I wonder if he hasnt been given as much opportunity onball due to the straight mids that have less ability elsewhere like Sanders, Ashcroft ect

Honestly id be excited to have C.Edwards at 9, be a while since ive felt that excited about a player

He will take time and is huge risk/reward compared to say a D.Wilson/Watson

Also exactly the type we need

Probably means less reliance on needing Archie to become more of a mid aswell if he looks like making it

Another thing ill say is the guys that have come quite late have done well

Oliver
Taranto
Humphrey

Maybe im not thinking of the ones who havnt succeeded

As good an effort as any.

I really like Caddy but the Dees were so dire infront of the footy it makes sense for them to go KPF for their first pick for the 3rd draft in a row. Leake seems like a very Cats pick but he’s performing so well it wouldn’t surprise if he goes higher. I’d be wrapped with Wilson.

melbourne'll need more than 1 forward to try and fix their ramshackle f50.

ben brown is cooked, can't get his body right, bailey fristch is solid but had the worst case of shit kicking in finals i've seen for a long ass time, tom mcdonald is a spud, jake melksham is 31 with an ACL, not going to be contracted beyond next year likely and kozzie pickett is 50/50 for kicking straight imo. if they want to pressure the scoreboard they almost need to sacrifice petracca's impact in the middle to make him a target as a full forward.

tbh i think petracca has some pretty good forward craft, can kick a fair distance. the name likely won't mean anything to anyone not from bendigo/colbinabbin (iirc played in the heathcote district football league) but as a kid i watched grant weeks tear up the bendigo football league. obviously the comparison to country football and afl is a bit daft but the way he played inspired my love of football as a young teenager

Van Rooyen looks a jet, they drafted Jefferson in the first round last year and they milked another 2 picks in the top 25 out of Freo this year.

If they’re not ok with all that, they’ve only got themselves to blame.
