Jarryd Roughead

I'd just thought I should give my two cents worth on Roughy.

Will always play second fiddle to Franko but expect big things from him this year.

He kicked 40 goals in 2007 with Franko kicking 70+.

With Lance getting more attention this year I think Jarryd Roughead will go close to winning Hawthorn's Leading Goalkicking Title, if he can get over his kicking woes.

Will play further up the ground in 2008 IMO, playing a Riewoldt like role.

Can be pushed down in defence if Hawthorn are in strife.

He is very cheap in DT and expect a price rise in 08.

dude, decide what your thinking.. these are conflicting

Those blokes leaving (mainly Judd) makes a differance because now Kerr will get the number 1 tag and that will leave Priddis to run and around dominating the midfield. Kerr did so well early on last year because he wasn't getting tagged as much. So the departure of Judd means more time and space for Priddis.
It also means that if Kerr is missing for any games he will get the tag. I think he found himself in that position last year a couple of times and didn't cope well (beer has made my memory hazy though, correct me if I'm wrong). He should be a stronger and wiser this year, and will get more of the blocking and help that Judd got last year, but I don't think he will improve proportional to his increased game time. A little improvement yes, but not significantly.

The only thing with Priddis is the huge variances. 3 games under 40 and 8 under 80 is a lot for a midfielder, even with reduced game time. I think you will find an opportunity to trade him in mid year at a very juicy price if last year was any indication.

Correct. 2 close checking games against Sydney scored 36 and 37.

no its not. 100 minutes is standard for a player that averages what he does. an extra 15 minutes would be an extra 15 dream team points at least

not if he is a burst player.. dane swan comes off the bench and scores big in bursts.. could be the same deal here

Also said playing a riewoldt like role, as seen in the NAB GF Riewoldt's playing much closer to goal.

WTF.. is anybody else reading this...

so suddenly one game in a different position and thats officially the type of game you play

he leads up on the the wings and half forward

you have got to be joking me right?

exactly heres a stat that should stop everyone over priddis
2006 swan averaged 86mins per game (down from 108 in 2005), he went from 65pts to 102, then from 86mins he playeed 97mins per game last year, so his game time went up almost 13%, and his points, he averaged 102 again!

I cannot disagree anymore here are some stats that might help to prove my point
Here are some stats for priddis
Semi final v collingwood last year - priddis 37 disposals, 8 tackles. DT= 143 NO Kerr, NO Judd
Round 21 v St.Kilda - 36 disposals, 12 tackles. DT= 160
NO Kerr NO Judd

I think he was referring to the knee injury (meaning less of the type of play we have seen in the past) that liar-liar-pants-on-fire-Lyon assures us is fine. I hope he is OK but im not convinced yet.

This night he went head to head with Swan who had 158 DT points. They didn't get within 20m of each other all night. Straight shootout.

semi final was extra time and if i recall the eagles had a ridiculous amount of possessions (424) that match (pretty sure i couldve got 70)
and how often do u expect him to get 12 tackles?
2 games, wat about 2 games v sydney, a team that can place defensive pressure as opposed to most games the eagles play where its a straight possession fest shoot out, it will have to change a bit this year because the eagles dont have the quality they used to, meaning they will lose more shootouts usually
he only got 58 against freo in the derby as well, another high intensity match

priddis also got 37 against essendon rd 21 with no judd and no cousins

lol yeah i know WAZ(mad)dog. I'm trying to say that when the guns are out priddis lifts. Your theory abour getting the number one tage doesnt work because he still dominates when they are out. So you obviously have no idea

Maybe a slight change of topic. What about Nick.

Is he completely abandonded because of the knee or is anyone willing to run the gauntlet?

Nah I'm sticking with him, looked pretty good against crows plus got 2 weeks off so he should be set fro round 1.
