Lost my temporary interest in Gram. Maybe i'm suffering from "crap backs syndrome" like others and seeing mystical value where it isnt.

Not enough possessions to be spread around halfback for Goddard/Fisher/Gram. Goddard the target hopefully by round 5 if he looks recovered...should be cheap by then and get to have a good look at him first. Fisher is such an underrated player but a bit pricey.

Ellis missed his first season due to a season ending foot injury, not because he wanted to stop afl to focus on school

He played a few games for Box Hill.

I can't remember a foot injury, he managed to still play some matches for Box Hill toward the end of the year.
In 2006 Ellis focused on completing his year 12 studies and playing football for Melbourne Grammar School.

He did not play because he was doing so, if not he would have played for Hawthorn instead of B.H.

How did he manage to play for B.H and MGS if he had a season ending injury?

Midfield causing me most trouble - do i go the safe options of 400k+ players or take the risk with 300-400k players?
What about some sub 300k players?
Houli, Dyson, Armitage, Gibbs, Stevens, Boak,

300-400k
Goodes, Cross, Salopek, Pendles, Johnstone,

Maybe get one 400k+ plus option but put most 400k+ in back or forward imo
Ive got Cornes, Pav, Riewoldt and brown as my 400k+ players

good to see im doing dream team instead of uni assignments

wots ur thoughts on

cox, wood corey and cfletcher
verse
mcintosh simmonds mithcell priddis?

cheers for the help, but i know exactly what players i want. Its just whether or not i take the risk with them.

As i say, i might be thinking with my ego instead of logic.

Might not be that much of a problem, its not like Dangerfield who is in a different state. Remembering Luke Ball played 16 games in his first season while doing year 12 (the 6 he missed were through injury)

Luke Ball didn't play any AFL footy in his first season at the club which was 2002. He was at the club part time and would've played a few games I think but he had OP IIRC.

i probably shouldnt use the words season ending foot injury but I DO recall him having a foot injury which only allowed him to play at the end of the season but i didnt know he still ended up playing a few games at the end of the season
But i am100% sure he had a foot injury

Sub 300 out of those i favour Houli and Armitage but Armitage has a tough jiob breaking ionto that midfield if all are fit. I;d guess though he's a damn good chance to start on the bench 1st game whereas i reckon the Dons will play Houli as an integral cog from the start. Gibbs maybe in SC but not for me in DT, Stevens a risk but risk is greatly reduced by everyone having him. You can always target any of these guys between rnd 2/3 round 2 if one stands out as a must.
300-400 i wouldnt choose Goodes until early mid season. he's not a qualtity guy until late season and there always seems to be a cheap time to grab him later. Dont like Salopek but nor real reason...nor pendlebury..cross and johnstone represent the best value amongst those u mentioned.
i'd like to go in with Riewoldt but didnt like that ice pack on his knee despite it being "nothing".
if buying 400+ guys think which u would want as captains coz that will determine your actual faith in them to warrant the monsy.

no guarantee chad is going to have a huge season either

I got 5 400k+ players that i can choose as for captain they are:

Pavlich
Brown
C.Cornes
Cross
Bowden.

Xav did have an injury in his first year, it was his ankle. IIRC it was at the start of the year, he broke his ankle by stepping in those dug in sprinklers, unlucky. Played the last few games for Box Hill and Grammar.

is it just me, or is there a lack of quality backmen under about 330,000? atm ive only got one player underneath that price, but apart from that nobody has really shown anything.
Mundy
King
Waite
Symes
Lovett-Murray
Brett Jones

imo are the only possible candiants for averaging 70+
Johncock is also worth considering.

A little topic that would be interesting:

How many risks have you taken in your starting line up?

I have taken three risks.

Depends what you'd call a risk, whether it be certain players or team structure as a whole.

I have three <100k players starting atm. I'm not very keen on it, but when I try and cut it down to two my team turns to arse.

In terms of actual players, I've got three or four that have hardly been mentioned, if at all so far.
