Well just got back from the NTFL grand final breakfast with Sheeds and as a Pies backer, i can honestly say Sheeds is a dead set Legand.

So casual and easy to talk to what an absolute pleasure to talk to.

Great day, Unfortunately StMary's flogged Tahs but still a great day....Lazt hunge on THE FUZZ makes the night smoother.

One thing that interested me was Sheeds talking to a youngen (4-6Yo), he said 'who's your fav player' and the kid in a bomber jumper said 'Matty Lloyd' Sheeds straight away said 'What about his hamstrings'?

Leave you with that

As Barlinnie costs me the quaddie:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Ive got C.Rioli starting and L.Hansen is that to risky?

Cyril is imo, 1st year playes except the likes of Alwyn, Priddis & Joel Selwood are pretty rare to find, they often are very inconsistant due to TOG and not real bulked up to cop all the hard hits, so they are ginger most of the times they get a hard knock...Just my opinion, but I'm sure other people have some different ideas...

In saying that, if he holds up for 6-8 rounds he's probably done his job.

I take it you read the Herald Sun AFL Liftout the other day, he wasn't a first year player last year, he was drafted in 2005 and played a few games in 2006.

Is it a bad thing Porplyzia is no longer in my forward line? I put Cloke in instead. I think he can become close to the 7th best forward that is available - that is one trade saved.

Also, if a player of Bartel's quality were to fall 50k what types of players are we trading to pick him up. I really can't see how it works in the short term.

The best chance to get Bartell is 2 weeks after he gets a corky 5 mins into the first quarter against the Dogs and the Cats lose by a point.
Put the drink down and head off to bed mate!!

Is Josh Hill Rocket's pre-season plaything or is he likely to get a shot this year. I don't think he can get a spot on my bench but interested to hear where he sits. Gotta be better than Welsh...:p;)

I didn't read it at all, but yeah, he basically come out of no where....

I haven't seen it but apparently Rocket has said he is almost certain to play Rd1 but a few of the Dogs fans on this thread thought maybe not.

IMO Harbrow > Hill at this stage and I can only see 1 place available unless injury kicks in.

Stating the obvious, but Cloke > Porplyzia. I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. I have him (I think he's good for an average ~80), but I'm concerned because he's my 5th forward. I'm lacking a bit of depth there atm.

Good point.

Also raises the point about starting rookies and trading them out for guns. To trade a Rioli out for a Steve Johnson you'd need a good 300k of profit from a couple of rookies.

I still can't figure out why every single team has Cross. He's over 400K and he's not the K.Cornes/Bartel/S.Thompson league. Same goes for Salopek, every single team i've seen has him. Have i missed something Salopek still has Cassisi, Cornes, Cornes, Burgoyne, Burgoyne, Boak and Pearce to contend with.
Why does everybody have them. And i mean everybody.
You sounded like you were serious Butane, so here's my response.
Firstly, I would definitely rank Cross in the same league as the "elite" DTers along with Hayes, Bartel and Kornes. Not sure if Thompson is actually the same status yet though.
For Cross:
2005: 94.6
2006: 100.4
2007: 92.6
His first 9 games last year: 137, 106, 108, 95, 107, 112, 92, 81, 118
Then he got 29 and was out for 6 rounds.
That looks pretty good to me.

I can answer for Cross not for Salopek. Cross is amazingly consistent, will never get tagged, lots of tackles, lots of marks, does handball a little to much but that i can live with it. I think definatley can come close to Cornes and Bartel, maybe a few points less. He is 100k less than Bartel and 70k less than Cornes. Will average 100 and at his price is a bargain. I can't see any reason not to have him, first picked in my team.
I'm not sure if I could have said it better myself actually. :thumbsu:

Is Bowden a lock this year? Or should I consider Birchall instead?
I'm shocked you mentioned them in the same sentence. Bowden and Cornes are in another league compared to the other backmen. But due to his price, Bowden is probably not a "lock", but if you can fit him in I'd take him over Birchall any day.

Cloke = Good idea (Trades are gold)

Say Dyson / Houli etc increased to 305K (70 ppw avge) and a Rookie increased to 215K (50 ppw)

Total 520K.

Trade Bartell in @ say 435K and new Rookie at 83K

I agree upgrading from rookies to guns is not as difficult as it seems, but I can't see him getting that low all year.

Cloke or Porplyzia?

I got both.

Cloke because i believe he is up for a big year, and he averaged 75 in the preseason games which is pretty good considering what others averaged. I love how he leads up the ground and his kicks to handball ratio is like 100:1. So despite his small possession games he can easily get 100+ points without doing to much.

Porplyzia is a dead set bargin. It seems as though he has moved into the midfield/forward and has had a very good preason. At his price your crazy not to have him.

Hope that helps.
