Got schooled online, according to the stats I should have done a lot better........ broke even in the first quarter, but got pounded in the second and third. Made a fight of it in the final quarter. I was up against it (basically 2 human players on the same team vs myself), and they were using a custom Eagles super team (Naitanui, Rioli, Fyfe, Buddy etc). I did well to get it up the ground, but they would stop me on the last line of defence 99% of the time.

Lost against GWS, their third quarter basically killed me. Made a decent effort in the fourth quarter which was ruined by them eating up the last 5 minutes of the clock but chipping it around to each other, in a triangle formation!.

Had a point to prove in the following match (also always get fired up against Geelong or Sydney games lol). It's been a few days since I've thrashed a team. I regained top spot on the ladder, plus a healthy percentage boost. While Geelong went from 6th to 10th as their percentage took a huge dive :D.

So I like to create teams really briefly with no effort put into the players facial features other than hair style/colour and facial hair, spending more time with the attributes, I like the make the squads with as many people who were actually in the squad I am find instead of having 22 N. Player's in the reserves, but anyway.. on to my point.

A few weeks ago I made a team and uploaded it and it was 'Adelaide 1997-1998' which had about 90 downloads from the fanhub at the time. Then a couple of a days ago I made a 'Western Bulldogs 00-2010' squad which somehow totally wiped the Adelaide one I made out of the fanhub and it was replaced by the Western Bulldogs team I created which immediately had 90 downloads or so. I then obviously re-uploaded the Adelaide side which now has 1 download and the Dogs one now has about 106 and is sitting on the third page of teams which isn't a legitimate number.

Just wondering if anybody on here downloaded the Adelaide 1997-1998 squad and if so, was it removed from your game and replaced with the Western Bulldogs side? Such a stupid glitch.

And if anyone's interested I also created the Geelong 2007-2011, Port Adelaide 2004 and Sydney 2005 squads that are floating around between page 2 & 4. Also a Hawthorn 2008 if any Hawk fans are interested (use search feature).

Edit: it also bugs me that sometimes the player guernsey numbers aren't right even though I put the effort in to do the correct ones sigh.

Thought I would offer some thoughts. I'm a casual gamer who will squeeze in the odd game against the AI.

Main Positive:
- WW have had a red hot crack at this. Irrespective of how the game ends up after patch 2B, I respect WW a lot more after Evo and I'm now willing to consider that Evo 2 or 3 (if they come to exist) could deliver a very good AFL game.

Other positives:
- the game is genuinely challenging and is complex enough to at least create the impression that there's a lot of skill required.
- the variety of kicks and handballs is great
- game quality is reasonably solid. It's not a POS. I feel - for now at least- it's a genuine debate between which is better bw Evo and Live 1

Main negative:
- not convinced that the WW footy engine will deliver a fantastic AFL title. After the initial excitement on Evo, it does start to look and feel a lot like Live 2 , which I'm sure looked and felt like other WW AFL title before it. How much improvement does this engine have left in it?

Other negatives / ideas to improve:
- view player injury information in a regular season (if anyone knows how to view this I would love to know)
- opposition players more visible on the radar (the black circles are very hard to see)
- dynamic camera mode to zoom in closer in the clinches , and zoom out further with the long kick. Also give long kicks more hang time to allow your player to get into position
- make it easier to tell when your player is in possession. A white triangle for both you and the opposition is bloody confusing in the middle of a pack, and frustrating with the hair trigger umpiring.

While I'm at it:
- goal kicking at Etihad is boring. Although not realistic, provide a 'wind at Etihad (y/n) config option.
- make it easier for players to get in the clear at a defensive kick out
- have a box that always shows the name of the player in possession in the HUD down the bottom. Have 'P'/ 'M'/ 'FK' next to their name so you know why they have the ball
- increase the amount of options for onscreen information, perhaps with traffic lights so it's easier to understand why something happened during play. e.g.: - long ball marking contest, three traffic lights - marking stat, timing and position. When you lose a marking contest, you get a moment to see which one is 'red' sop you can understand why you lost. For example, perfect position, perfect timing, but you lost the contest on the marking stat, so that third light would be 'red'.
- when tackled - traffic light turning from green to red so you know you have to hand off asap

Design ideas (maybe trickier to patch):
- reduce the 1v1 emphasis. Most glaring when you have a back flanker with a great marking stat, you can always safely use that player at kickouts (and vice versa, hence I guess why so many are getting frustrated)
- player movement - something still not quite right about the CHB/CHF dynamic. It was a game killer on Live 2, here it still seems to decide whether or not there's going to be a quick goal more often that not, especially at the centre bounce.
- ability to hot swap ball movement using the D pad (e.g. up-up-left / up-up-right to change bw offensive and defensive in the forward fifty)
- ability to have set rotations which you can trigger with the D pad during play (e.g. right-right then up/down to cycle mid field rotations or ruckmen etc)
- AI 'assistant' coach that makes suggestions at the quarter time break. AS well as manual changes, you have the option to select yes/no to make changes. e.g. opposition player x is on fire, put player 'y' on him (yes / no).
- option to slow or increase the speed of the game
- make goal kicking more enjoyable (I don't think any AFL game has cracked this nut yet. Not a big fan of the stick flick, I think there has to be a bit more to it).
- make tackles and player collisions feel chunkier
- ability to call a lead, and set pockets to hang around / crumb for a main forward, more tagging options etc.

The bugs I'll leave for another time, not many are escaping attention here and on FB. I think the patch was definitely a step in the right direction. If they can make the umpire a bit more lenient (or even have that as a setting) and fix the line up bug in 2B, I think Evo will be a pretty good AFL game with definitely some promise for the future.

This really annoys me, there are a few people doing this. I got one the other day, I played as GWS and they had every gun in the league in every position as a custom Fremantle team, forward line had something like Franklin, both Riewoldt, Betts etc. midfield had Ablett Fyfe Dangerfield Selwood and others. Play fair people, otherwwhat is the point? I rage quit that game, these idiots don't deserve to win

Last few results heading into the finals. Building some nice form, Hodgie in nice :D. Surprisingly (almost beginning to think it's scripted), I was injured in the round 23 match against the Bulldogs (literally in the first tackle of the game!). Was sad thinking that my season was going to be done and no finals...... miraculously (Hawthorn lost by 2 points) was fit and ready to go for the QF.

The finals matches:

First half was sluggish in both games, but did enough to dominate and win in the second half. Went on to meet St Kilda in the grand final, started strong.... faded to the point where I was 45 points down at one stage in the third quarter. Mounted a fight back, managing to win by 13 points :D. I so desperately wanted to win by 1 point just for a personal lol moment :D (yes I am mean, taking glee from robbing St Kilda of a virtual premiership).

nskOOAI.jpg

My losses came from games I was injured in as well as the game(s) I missed after the first injury. The only game I truly lost (that I had no hope in) was the GWS one I mentioned a while back. I have a good enough grasp of the game to have "lulls" on purpose, but still fight back to win. I'd love to see a new difficulty that is 99% impossible to do well in unless you execute everything perfectly.

Hodgie the star of the season, when you score anywhere from 6 - 18 goals a game you're bound to win the Coleman :D. Not even sure the "multiple years" offered in a contract applies in the game ? I swear I've signed on for 2-3 year deals in my created players solo career, and yet at the end of the season I have the option of signing on with others ?

In this one Hodge was offered single year deals at some clubs, 2 years at Hawthorn and 4 years at others (Lions, Suns etc). I was thinking he'd be made to retire at the end of this season due to age ? LOL if I did something stupid and signed for Geelong :p

Now I don't know if I will go for year 2 with Hodgie or start another pro career as Rioli, Smith or O'Meara.

The novelty of career mode wore off fairly quickly
Adding stats to my career player didn't seem to have much of an impact

I started a new player career as Isaac Smith, it's pretty boring playing on the wing. Ruck-rover is where the action is!

I kind of have the same thought, I have a few achievements to aim for (such as the threepeat) from what i have read some of the ones I am still chasing are glitched so even if I match the criteria they still might not unlock.

Still want to get it on pc and dying to find out when the release date is.

Really?

I've managed to take Sean Darcy from being incapable of winning a ruck contest to at least breaking even and being half decent around the ground and I've put some work into Brady Grey and he came out and kicked 12 goals in his next 2 games

I'm loving the feeling of building my own freo team the only trouble is trying to win enough games to avoid the sack in the middle of a rebuild

Why would they put a brownlow one in?

Its an end of season award.
past afl games have had it. AFL LIVE 2004 Premiership Edition was the best AFL game, in terms of stats, there is. After a match, before getting to the next match menu the stats leaders (top 10.) would pop up. Brownlow votes, goals, marks, tackles, Disposals, kicks, handballs and hitouts. It was sooooo gooood!

Except the brownlow is not done round by round in real life.
