Apparently once you gain the captaincy, you are able to access the team lineup via the pause menu and move players around. This means that, rather than sitting on the bench watching the game for ages, you can put yourself back on the game. So, once you get taken off, watch the game for a little bit to recharge stamina and then put yourself back on via the team lineup screen.
Thanks mate! I need to remember this!

yeah big ant are great don bradman is still broken. **** me this site has a hard on for big ant

I don't. If this game was made by big ant I wouldn't have bought it. I have no faith in them making a decent video game of any sport.

I gave this a chance because I liked Melbourne cup that trublue made and I like footy. But it's no different to big ants last attempt at footy.

Graphics are exceptionally bad, gameplay is very 1 dimensional but it's footy.. kinda.

How dare you! You're gonna hurt us Big Ant fanboys feelings! Would you like it on your conscious if I made a safe space thread, so only good things can be said about our support for an average game?

I can't tell if you are in support or not if this game? Lol. You went to hard on the sarcasm and it all just seems sarcastic lol. I can't see the forest from the trees.

You have a serious problem with anyone liking this game don't you ?

You've hated this game since the day it was announced right up to today and yet you still hang around

We get it mate. 300+ posts all about AFL evolution, most bagging it out. I think you've made your point.

Give it a rest Ross.

I'm making fun of the fact people in the Wicked Witch camp can't handle any form of criticism of De-evolution. Now what you said about Big Ant, I don't disagree with you they're not supreme. I just found them to be the only developers who bothered to make a game that kinda resembles actual football for once. Even if it's at it's slight core, that's leagues ahead of anybody else. But I'll tell ya, I've been dying for the last 6 years for somebody, it doesn't have to be Big Ant, to finally make something above what Live 1 brought.

You really hit the nail on the head of this stereotype of humourless people who can't even take a joke, let alone criticism.

This game isn't better than Live 1, though.

And for those suggesting that the terrible marking system is good because it's challenging, and games aren't meant to be easy - it's true that games should provide some challenge, but not in the controls fundamental to playing the game. These should be something you should be able to master in a few hours of gameplay.

If the game relies on difficult controls and bugged-out AI to make it difficult, then it's not a very well-designed game.

Its on par the glitches (game breaking that require reboots or silly programming decisions) hold it back..... just.

I mastered the marking within hours and I'm not the greatest with games. People just require patience.

I wasn't a fan of AFL Live being a tackle fest.... but I adjusted my play style to avoid being a tackle dummy and best thing was it still resembled a real football game.

I saw a few people return the game at EB.... whatever makes people happy. Did s****** at the fact Big W, Target and JB sold out... those people are stuck with their copy lol.

Still don't regret the purchase, almost finals bound... 1st on the ladder and Richmond is second ha ha.

Just played first game online. Lots of glitches. Lost the whole 3rd quarter from a glitch. Went oob then everyone just stood there til the clock ran out. Ftw.

I remember bringing back my PS3 slim after one week to Big W, and they refunded me.

Machinery is different to a game you'll have some trouble.

Your best bet would be to scratch the disc and say it doesn't work. But if they push another copy... you'll have to get store credit.

Jb had no issues a few years back I purchased a Hawthorn grand final box set... a few discs were damaged, swapped my faulty copy for another.

The most stingy place I've been to were Game Traders. I've been able to return games and consoles to those bigger retail stores, in the past.

I'd actually much rather play this than AFL Live 1 and 2. The first one in particular was just an onslaught of tackles until you're the last one in the chain and you finally have five metres of space to kick it long. Doesn't interest me whatsoever.

Geez, I wonder why this Twisties guy will never say a bad thing about AFL Evolution or Wicked Witch. It's unfortunate that people will take this guy's opinion at all seriously when considering purchasing this game.

Skip to about 6:30. (His real name is Dean Milhe)

The bloke with the teal coloured has a funny laugh.

I don't know, at least there was some rhyme or reason to that.

This is just bizzare. The ball often appears to go through the torso of my players so that the opposition can mark it.

There's not much about this that is good, is there?

Leaving aside the terrible marking contests, attempting to tackle the AI is a lol-worthy exercise which always sees them get a perfect handball off under pressure to a man in space.

I think the game is awesome!!

however no doubt the listed issues affect the game to some degree

wish it was easier to take grabs etc...(however this seems to be just a learning curve)..

A very good game that is held back a little by some gameplay problems.

the obvious glitch - missing goal from close range...
- interchange options more immediate etc..

- game sliders, if possible..

- commentary is not a priority at this point, focus on the game.

Decided to restart Be A Pro by starting in the TAC Cup and moving up from there. Randomly chose the Western Jets. My player is a 187cm, 103kg FF.

First game, on Hard, I get 33 disposals, 24 marks, and 13 goals, 4 behinds. Looks like TAC Cup is extremely easy since your player is rated almost the highest in the comp.

Became captain after that game, now currently in my 2nd game overall. Here's my player celebrating a gimme goal.
