Hope they have a button for strong tackles...example with a strong tackle you have a better chance of getting a holding the ball decision but also a chance of giving away a free kick or even getting reported....and the other could be conservative tackles where hardly a chance of giving away a free but easier for the opposition player to fend off

The trailer has a pretty brutal high tackle so I'd imagine there'd be something like that

I'd also love to see some hard bumps and heavy hits in the game, no previous game has really achieved that

It makes me think there might be something similar to the Madden Hit Stick control. Flick the right stick for a bigger hit (or tackle in this case).

I like the name, I think they want to distance themselves from other versions of the game whether that be on ps2 or PS3/x360 either developed by them or by big ant. They want to evolve the AFL game virtually.
If that's the reason then it's pretty hilarious. Considering the naming of AFL Live 2 was the exact opposite. As in deceiving the public by piggy backing on the name of a good game pretending it was a sequel made by the same people.

Maybe that's an indication of WW's internal opinion of both games.

AFL Live 2 - they chose to piggyback onto AFL Live 1's name as they knew their game was trash, in an attempt to "pull the wool over people's eyes"
AFL Evolution - they know this game measures up well compared to previous titles, and they're prepared to allow the game define itself as its own entity

We can only hope right?!

That's almost like asking 'Anyone agree that kicking goals adds to the total points scored by a team in a game?"
It's a weird way to phrase it but he's got a point. I've never really felt a lot of emotion from the crowd in AFL games. The crowd cheers exactly the same whether you've kicked a goal to draw the margin back to 10 goals, or whether you've kicked a goal to go 3 points up with 2 minutes remaining.

Obviously it's extremely tricky for a game to figure out what reaction to give a goal. But in varying levels of excitement you'd expect things like a lead changing goal late in a game, a miracle goal from the pocket, or a 60m roost to get a bigger reaction than your run of the mill goals. Like that real euphoric cheer you only get a few times a game.

Likewise if you have a shot at goal to take the lead but miss you should hear that buildup followed by the sighs of disappointment when it goes the wrong side of the post.

Exactly. Thank you

I'd be happy if the noise reflected things like crowd size and occasion. That is, a prelim final at the 'G should be roaring, giving a sense of the occasion, whereas a round 8 game at Metricon should have very little crowd noise.

Anyone know if reports have been confirmed in the game?
Found this in the game files:

TRIBUNAL
During the course of a game in career mode there is a chance a player in your team will be reported for a misconduct or poor behavior.
Before the next round commences you can either choose to lodge an early guilty plea or appeal the suspension entirely.
If you choose to ignore an issued suspension` that player will receive their full sentence at the start of the next round. A suspension can be handled either via the inbox or tribunal page.

PLEADING GUILTY AND APPEALS%
A guilty plea can be lodged by any player who has not received a suspension in the current season.
By choosing this option the player will receive their suspension but their sentence will be reduced.
It is also possible to lodge an appeal on a sentence. A successful appeal will drop the suspension entirely. However` an unsuccessful appeal will increase the sentence length.

Couldn't find anything about crunching tackles or anything like that but did find some details on hip and shoulder and possible injuries:

HIP & SHOULDER
Push [RIGHT_STICK] towards an opponent to hip and shoulder. You can hip and shoulder players with or without the ball. Be careful not to give away a free kick by hip and shouldering players who are not near the ball.
If you don^t have enough stamina` you won^t have the strength to attempt this action. This will fatigue your player` so use it sparingly!

I'm not gonna lie, I laughed at the bolded one.

And before you ask yes, I am an immature man-child.

Well, the name and marketing is up to the publisher Tru Blu which was the same for both games. Probably not an active Wicked Witch decision. Also remember that the Wii version of AFL Live 1 was made by WW.

Also, having said all this, it is bizarre that AFL Live was chosen as a name in the first place, as it was the same name given to the 2003, 2004, 2004 Premiership Edition, 2005, 2006 and 2007 games which were all developed and published by different companies.

Many people I spoke to were hesitant to buy AFL Live "1" because they though it was made by the same crappy developers as the past ones.
