Am I the only one who thinks you should be able to see the current overall, but not the potential?

Makes it impossible to get a decent player outside the first round when in reality it's commonplace for average players at an under 18 level to slide outside the first round and end up having a great career.

Sounds very promising, has it been metioned if you can make trades in career mode?
Yeah, but you have to keep trading in mediocre players to prevent your club from ever bottoming out but at the same time never good enough to win a final. Repeat this process every year and then blame the coach.

I think they should give you a range based on how good your scouts are and how often you've scouted their matches.

So for the top talent who you've been scouting all year you'd presumably have a very narrow range for potential ability. eg. 85-90. For players who have scouted a bit you might have something like 70-85. For players you know nothing about 0-100

And maybe the skill of the scout would influence the accuracy of the potential ability that they have given you?

So basically the FIFA method. Works well enough

But then the draft becomes a crap shoot - you either pick a decent player now and hope they're not maxed out or pick a shit one and hope they have high potential.

In order to make a somewhat realistic draft/development system, the mechanics and logic behind it need to be quite complicated and integrate a number of different features. It's unrealistic for now, but hopefully we can see it develop in future. At the moment, having potential visible is better than it being invisible, but neither are great options.

I agree with you somewhat, but make it so potentials are very hard to judge so it's still possible to get a few gems late in the draft, which I don't see happening at all under the current system WW are using or your proposed one.

If potential is visible now it makes it impossible to get a good player in the later rounds of the draft.

If you can override potential to a small degree with player training it might not be so bad.

... and if potential isn't visible now there is no difference between pick 1 and pick 108 because you have no idea how good they're likely to be.

Not really, because you know how good they are at the time of being drafted, and the better players tend to end up having a higher potential.

I remember in Live 2 I could train just about any draftee, not matter how bad, to an 80 after a few seasons. Ridiculous.

If the release brakes on Tuesday and EB start selling it from then on will they let me know to come get my pre order or will they not bother contact me till Friday ?
I'm not EB customer service mate.

Wasn't really directing it at you it was more directed at anyone who may know, it just happened to relate to your earlier post
Unless they work at EB I doubt that anyone will know, just call them and ask.

That is unless of course you want to avoid human interaction as best you can, then I'm not sure what you can do.

Yes EB will message you straight away.

I also don't think people should be placing too much faith in the Target selling early thing either.
Also note that it's not just a matter of the flood gates opening once street date breaks. Most retailers like EB must get the all clear from head office before releasing early.
When AFL Live 1 broke i took my bought copy from Kmart into EB on the Saturday to prove that street date was broken and they didn't go ahead selling copies until Monday.

Agreed.

If Target even get it early one person lucking out and getting an early copy won't make the others sell early.

I know this might sound stupid but watching the footy this weekend after watching the gameplay vids this week makes me think Evolution actually looks really close to the real thing

Well, you are certainly seeing things that I'm not seeing then. Time for me to book an appointment at specsavers I guess...

I hope we can pick who we want as our second Ruckmen....i remember live2 it will always be the FF
